Shocking darkness has descended upon the town. People are craning their necks through windows and doors to see what is going on. Such blackness that has only been seen before in the dead of night. All the streetlights are shining away brightly.
Aha! Lightning flashing on the southern horizon, amongst the black smoky cloud. The weather is about to suffer a horrific meltdown.
Meanwhile, Meteomanford are playing Ditchtown Wobblers in the Premier League match this afternoon. They better have their floodlights turned on, or nobody will be able to see the ball.

Cloud to ground lightning is ripping from the clouds at a terrific rate, and the commentator has announced that the match has been abandoned. Peals of thunder all rolling into one great cacophany as the storm swallows the town. Nobody's ever seen anything quite so violent and appalling in winter before.
And now, now there is a tornado reported to have touched down on the edge of town! People are literally running back inside for their lives. The sheer tempest that nobody could foresee, even the forecasters, is wreaking its havoc upon the land. Rain starting now as well, thankfully not too violently.

Very mild and humid, becoming cloudy then a violent thunderstorm with a tornado reported in the town early-mid PM. The storm wasn't properly forecast and was unusually violent for the time of year. The Met agency is under attack from people wanting to know why the damaging weather event went unforecast.
