Though this winter has been exceptional in every sense There's a good deal of idiot snowbirds here who leave between October and April, so there's that. Word on the block is they cause massive traffic disruptions in places like Jacarandopolis.

Actually, 50 people died during the very brutal cold snap in mid-January, all of them idiot frat bros trying to show off by going out in -100 F (-73 C) temperatures shirtless, video taping it, and putting it on social media. Better off as there's less idiots in the gene pool now.

I remember that years ago (more than 15) I wrote about a snowstorm in New Florida that killed people. Known as the "snow hurricane" - complete with feet of snow, 100mph winds causing roofs to be torn off, and thunder blizzards. Unfortunately I don't have the details now. It was in late December one year and I remember part of the story being that kids were playing in a band at a christmas concert and the snow-loaded roof collapsed and crushed them all. I was a sick kid.
