Though this winter has been exceptional in every sense There's a good deal of idiot snowbirds here who leave between October and April, so there's that. Word on the block is they cause massive traffic disruptions in places like Jacarandopolis. |

Actually, 50 people died during the very brutal cold snap in mid-January, all of them idiot frat bros trying to show off by going out in -100 F (-73 C) temperatures shirtless, video taping it, and putting it on social media. Better off as there's less idiots in the gene pool now.

I remember that years ago (more than 15) I wrote about a snowstorm in New Florida that killed people. Known as the "snow hurricane" - complete with feet of snow, 100mph winds causing roofs to be torn off, and thunder blizzards. Unfortunately I don't have the details now. It was in late December one year and I remember part of the story being that kids were playing in a band at a christmas concert and the snow-loaded roof collapsed and crushed them all. I was a sick kid.
