Rate: Kalispell, MT - First stop I had on my Northern Rockies Ski Trip. Its low in elevation for Montana (2,956 ft) so its considerably warmer than most other areas in Northern Montana
I give it a B+, better than my current climate - but wish winter was a bit longer and colder.

C-.
Cold bullshit. Summers are too cool with nights that are much too cold.

B. Great average highs, but the diurnal range is too high in the spring and summer, and the winters are too snowy.

B+; winters too cold, but the adequate snowfall makes up for it; epic summers. I also don't mind the late-spring/early-summer precip peak too much (but of course I prefer a winter/early-spring peak)—certainly hundred-fold better than a mid-summer or late-summer peak, at least!
Extra points for the low upwards variability in winter; winter maxima seem nice and stable.

I'd give it a solid B, looks quite nice overall but could use warmer summers and colder winters, and a bit more snowfall.

B+ Good climate, but not perfect. Summer nights are chilly, especially June. A bit dry, especially given the precipitation days. I get twice the precipitation in fewer days. Winter should be a little colder and snowier.
I like that it averages more snow in June than May.

A-
I visited there in mid July or August one year. It was a cool and cloudy day, a nice respite from other nearby locales with hotter climates (like Missoula).
Went to a ranch/bookstore there and bought a book and petted some horses. Very nice place!

They have some nice breweries and coffee shops in the little town right at the foot of Big Mountain

Once this bullshit is all done I'd like to drive to Fernie and then go down to Whitefish.

Was going to give this a D- until I saw those summer lows.

C-. Cold bullshit. Summers are too cool with nights that are much too cold. C- is being generous, I give this an F I gave that grade because it likely gets decent sunshine considering how large the diurnal ranges are in summer. I reverse Fs for soggy, damp, oceanic garbage climates like Reekyavik or Fetorshavn, and of course the ice cap climates that are not fit for human habitation (i.e. Vostok Station), because I would rather have snow than cold rain, and also because I hate cloudiness more than cold weather alone. Also, I'm surprised how many votes for A/B are given to this climate, and LOL @ the "hot and dry summers" description in the original Wikipedia page when the monthly mean of July is 65°F.
