Your version of events is slightly off. Joe deleted over 1,000 posts, expressed a desire to slit a 16 year old's throat, and then self-deleted. That's not how a logical adult conducts himself.
Both Angler and Candle seem to have big difficulties to remember how things usually go on this forum. For some reason.

In particular, Fagler is a massive hypocrite for calling me, and others kiss asses while kissing up to Joe himself.

1/2 ATM. This last week or so has been oddly... pleasant. Never thought I'd say that about here

Changed my vote from 0 to 5 here. If we keep banning people for petty reasons, it's pretty toxic.

5 due to the recent banning spree Banning a rape apologist and a guy who frequently tells insecure 15 year olds to swing from a rope makes the forum more toxic? Are we really this morally bankrupt? I'd rather a dead forum than that.

Banning adi was fine but then we banned someone with 17 posts all about weather and a highly contributing member because people didn’t like him.

You should have put up a defence of him during his ban poll, rather than protesting after the event.

Perhaps shoutbox bans/suspensions is an idea worth exploring? We've had a fair cases where members who contribute well in threads get banned because of their shoutbox activity. You look at Angler, 99% of the trouble related to him is shoutbox-based. We'd keep these members on the forum rather than banning them outright. Ofc this idea would require the mods to actually do something

He was on the banned list (wavehunter), and furthermore he wasn't even a contributor, let alone a "Highly contributing" member. A whiny loser with a complex about the US south who LITERALLY said "AlL BrITish Ppl think the UK IS subtropical!!1". And, putting words in members like Irlinit's mouth, quite clearly. Um, no thanks. His trolling behaviour on CD recently, digging up 5 year old posts to argue with them should have made it quite clear what he was going to be like.

His views weren't the problem, but entering the forum with a hostile attitude from almost day 1 is a bad sign. Which views? I'd say the ones where he accused all British people of saying the UK is more subtropical than the US South was the most fucking pile of horse puckey this forum has seen in its history. For the most part, his views were cock-a-maimy horseshit like his attitude.

I'd upgrade the toxicity to a 3, seems like there has been random drama popping up here and there recently

Tittyman was on the banned list and we let him stay. And I was referring to AW as the highly contributing member. Sure that sounds bad but is that really ban worthy? Bans should be for serious offenses. Strewthless AW was the highly contributing member I was referring to. In hindsight I should’ve stuck up for Carr more but at the time I barely knew who he was so I didn’t care much.

Tittyman was put to a vote the moment he was outed. But he won so the “he was on the banned list” argument doesn’t hold up for Carr.

I was obviously talking about Tittyman, if people were consistent about banning people on the ban list, Tittyman would’ve lost.

The difference is that Tittyman started his forum career being quite low-key and unconfrontational. Obviously people thought let's give him a chance as he was voted to remain. Carr OTH made no such impression, but came guns blazing in a junterlike style straight from the beginning.
Then when Tittyman became more unbearable, peoples' minds changed, and he self-deleted before ultimately being put up for a vote.
15 of us are of the opinion that AW has become unbearable. His contributions have diminished, and his hostile anti-social behaviour has increases. He has been warned several times by the moderators, to no effect.
It's good to have principles and to be consistent, but one cannot be pig-headed about them. If the situation has changed dramatically, it's also healthy to re-evaluate your principles.
