These are songs that you think are purely disappointing, they start very well and then drag on/get bad/don't do much with the intro or first verse. Me gior and baba were talking about this in the shoutbox a couple of weeks ago and I thought I may as well make a thread about it. My #1 culprit is Magic Carpet Ride by Steppenwolf. First minuteand a half is fucking excellent, amazingly catchy and very well thought out. Then it goes into weird, uninteresting experimental late 60s stuff (and I do like that type of stuff when it's done well, see: Lazy by Deep Purple), then they bring it back for the final 20 seconds before it fades out. A truly disappointing song with what they had Mr Blue Sky by E.L.O. Absolutely love the song up to when it goes "oh oh mr blue, mr blue I...." then it's way overblown, too slow and simply goes on for too long. But the first 2 verses and chorus are simply excellent music. Does anyone disagree with these? Does anyone have any songs that they think are truly disappointing. I know Baba mentioned "Take Me Out" by Franz Ferdinand.

I like the ending of Mr Blue Sky. I like the fact that it has several parts to it, ร la Bohemian Rhapsody.
This random French pop song is what I have in mind when I think of songs that don't end well:

First 0.5 seconds is good, but then it's crap until the end

I actually love this song, so perhaps "disappointing" is the wrong word to use. I just think that the slow intro and verses are amazing, the jolly upbeat choruses, although good, just seem out of place.

Absolute masterpiece for the first two minutes then rapidly deteriorates into weird rubbish. A complete waste of potential.

Take me Out by Franz Ferdinand starts off awesome tune and beat for the first 30 seconds then become boring and mainstream. Babu is right, very disappointing. I've always hated "Crazy" by Seal. Just don't like it at all. 100% shit. Off topic, but the most un-disappointing songs are anything jgtheone has posted. I still have to set up my jgtheone playlist on my phone. For a young bloke, his taste in music is truly exemplary.

Unpopular answer, but Sweet Child oโmine after the first two minutes or so
Careless Whisper definitely doesnโt live up to the epic saxophone at the start
Definitely agree on Magic Carpet Ride

I see why Beercules and Baba don't like Take Me Out. I enjoy it though, I kinda see it as two pretty good songs but I do understand why people don't like it, like Franz Ferdinand could've just made two separate songs.

Sweet Child oโmine after the first two minutes or so Nah, best part is Slash's guitar solo towards the end. Nah, good song from front to back.
