What is your favourite climate with the following criteria part 2: The climate has to be: between 66°33'N (Arctic Circle) and 90°00'N or between 66°33'S (Antarctic Circle) and 90°00'S Below 500 metres elevation I am sure someone here is going to say that Verkhoyansk is their favourite As for me, it would be Røst. Averages above freezing in all months en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Røst#Climate

Tromsø, Norway (69° 41’ N)Very snowy winters, and only moderately cold; win-win. Summers also appear to be at least somewhat varied—comprising an average high of 16° C, jointly with a record of 30° C. Precipitation pattern is handsome (winter max), although I'd like more precip in spring than in autumn. I'm really enjoying these threads btw, keep it up! Something new.

I like these kinds of threads a lot. Overkalix, Sweden. Not quite at the arctic circle, but let’s just say a few miles north of there for the thread. Saltdal, Norway is another contender but I can’t find any data for it, the wikibox is low info and likely inaccurate.

Overkalix, same as Steeler. It gets to 21.7C in July and that's enough for me.

Cold but not extremely cold in winter, and warm in summer. Going west, east, or north the summer gets worse. Anywhere with decent summers in Alaska, Canada, or Siberia is too cold in winter.
Babu mantioned some other villages in the area that were a fraction better, but I forgot what they were.
This has to be a typo, right? Ritsem has a mild record low, not "Ritsem's all-time record is lower than any other of the 100 stations featured in the national weather service's monthly reports." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ritsem

The all-time record high might be lower than any other non-mountain station. They've never been above 28.2 which is a very mild record high.

Bodo so far the best one. Overkalix winters are too cold, and Rost doesn't have a single month that I would consider warm

Overkalix looks nice for its latitude but I'd prefer to have cool summer when living in the polar zone, Bodø is my answer.

I am sure someone here is going to say that Verkhoyansk is their favourite Nobody! Very predictably, everybody choses either Norway or Sweden. Nobody likes the climate in Russia, including Russians themselves. Well, I think I can get a depression or any other mental issues living in the Arctic, so I have no favorite climate, according to the criteria, they all are terrible.

Honestly, I'm surprised as I thought there are some serious hard core cold lovers on this forum. I agree with you... living in the Arctic would suck for me too. I know some do like it though.

Svolvær. I would've chosen Røst, but I don't wanna be stuck on an island. Runner-up: Verkhoyansk. Warm summers and frigid winters. You can experience anything here.
