This is an impressive climate for Australia. Warm but not hot summers, actually cold winters with some snow, and tolerably wet year-round. Also the presence of thunderstorms with hail makes the summers a lot more interesting. A-, only not an A or A+ due to dryness. Cooma is a rare gem of the country.

D-. Oceanic hellhole but acceptable summer temperatures. A. Could be wetter and snowier.

B–; far too dry in winter, with too wide a diurnal range. Terrible precip pattern (summer peak).

D-
Pretty boring and gay most of the year but at least the summers are nice.

C-
I think Cooma's the most continental climate in Australia. Yeah, yeah, Kiandra is a better contender, BUT their summers are rather cool, so I wouldn't it as "continental", but rather a cool oceanic climate.
This one at least has distinct seasons, at least for Aussie standards.

B. Diurnal range is too high most of the year but otherwise a pretty decent climate.

There are many climates over the western side of the range in NSW and VIC that are far more "continental" than Cooma. Maxima only range 16° C from July to January, which is pitiful compared to climates on the western slopes (which have 20° C ranges in maxima, e.g. Khancoban).

D, Some heat possible but still too anemic with freezing nights in crummer. At least it gets storms.
Still a much better climate than say coastal SW Vic and Mt Gaybier.

Too hot in summer for me, but that is a large difference in temps.
Cooma gets a C+/B-. A decent climate, but it's a bit too dry. With the dryness I would want more than 90 clear days I think, so C+ it is.

Ah yes, Khancoban is definitely up there. I made a rate the climate thread on it way back on C-D.

D-. Oceanic hellhole but acceptable summer temperatures. A. Could be wetter and snowier. Updated rating: B-. Ranges can improve and winter highs can cool a few degrees. Fine with rain amounts.

D+, mate. Where's the bloody summer, and why are record lows below freezing every month of the year? It's also a bit too dry, as are the majority of climates posted on here it seems, but at least the winters aren't extremely cold.

The elevation explains the crummers and the low record lows, but "explains" doesn't mean "magically makes acceptable". No need to get snippy.
