It's interesting how many tropical storms we've had already. We're already at six, which no other season has done before July 19. But no hurricanes yet thankfully.

I usually don’t find tropical storms/hurricanes interesting, maybe because they never happen here. Hurricane Harvey was interesting with places getting 50+” of rain but unless there’s that extreme rainfall I’m usually just like “meh, another hurricane”.

I was about 5-7 years old in during the 2003-05 hurricane seasons, and that's a big part of what got me into weather. The others being our 2002 ice storm and snowy 2003-04 winter. |

why has this thread gotten hardly any attention when there was just a major hurricane that slammed into the gulf... It could be that most posters are more concerned with their local weather. I will say I'm thankful it hit one of the less populated places along the Gulf. Nevertheless, Lake Charles suffered major damage.
Also, there was a chemical leak.
