Reykjahlíð has a tundra climate ( Köppen ET, fücken!) with a slightly lower annual mean temp and a lower record high than Grytviken. On the shores of Mývatn (bug water/lake in Icelandic), the bugs would be a bitch in the general area it seems. I didn't look too long but this is the coldest place I could find in Iceland with climate data. If anyone knows of anywhere else, please do tell. I wouldn't mind living somewhere like this, despite being totally devoid of heat, let alone warmth. At any rate, I give the location an A+++++ and the climate a B or B+...just needs some heat and presumably more sunshine. Dimmuborgir formations nearby

F+. The plus is for being dry.

E+; extremely cold, arid shithole. At least it's comfortable.
Especially poor by Icelandic standards. Most Icelandic climates at least have heavy snowfall and high frontal activity…whereas this climate brings shame to the rest of Iceland. Not much snow, dry as a bone, and overall gay as fuck.

E-. It's pretty dry and at least occasionally gets over 20 C. Plus, much of the year would be rainless due to being too cold. My main gripe with these subarctic maritime climates is the amount of cold rain they get. I'd much rather live here than Campbell Island.

The name is "smokehillside." I assume it refers to the large hill in the photo.
C+ climate. Winters look good, but the summers are lacking, and the day length variations are no doubt very extreme.

🖕🏿Mörön🖕🏿 seriously? Now you see why I am confused about what you prefer, this climate literally is what I think you prefer but you whine when its 55 degrees and raining in Vancouver during the summer.

E It's one of the better ET climates I've seen, maybe even the best of that category. But still it's too cold and dry. Winter temps are doable tho.

E-, because at least it's not Vostok or Dallol.

I mean, credit where credit's due, it's at least reasonably dry.

C, nice moderated long winters but no summer at all really brings it down.

I wonder what the microclimate inside that volcanic crater in the first image is like

Not the absolute worst thing I've ever seen and its definitely survivable so I'll give an E instead of an F
