In other news, Gladhammar in SE Sweden recorded 17.7'C at 12.00, meaning today has another shot at possibly breaking the national record. The manual station Oskarshamn tends to be "Gladhammar but warmer"

Today was definitely a forecast fail in Saskatoon, we had a forecast high of 17C this morning but the highest hourly reading was only 6.1C. Tomorrow we'll see what the official high was, it probably a little bit warmer than that but not by much. In other news, we have a potentially record-setting blizzard coming up this weekend with possibly 20 to 30 cm of snow and wind gusts of 60 to 90 km/h. After that the temperatures plummet with highs only a little above the -10C mark for the next couple of weeks. Shit. That's cold. All I can say is I respect temperatures like that and don't want them to come messing with me anytime soon. Meanwhile I'm going to continue reveling in my week of 20-22'C highs

A winter storm watch is officially in effect for Saskatoon and the whole southern half of the province. Most of the area under advisory is expected to get 30 to 50 cm of snow by the time the system moves away on Monday morning.
For us in Saskatoon this will be by far the largest snowfall we've had in a very long time. I think the infamous blizzard of January 2007 was the last time we had something this substantial, in fact we may even get more snow than that if the predictions are accurate (though we won't be nearly as cold). Glad it's on a weekend and not during the work week!

Exceptional beginning of November in Riga. Again sunny, again a new daily record. Both the weather station of Latvian University and airport has recorded 14C.

Three storms this weekend: Saskatchewan get possible historic snowfall; Alaska gets an altitude-dependent rain-snow mix; and Cyclone Eta adds to the storm clouds brewing over Mar-a-Lago. It got down to 38F Tuesday morning (Election Day). Saw frost on roofs. Mornings have been chilly up until today, though it's been warming up to the 70's during the day. Turning more humid this weekend with warmer lows close to 60F and highs around 80F the next few days.

Potentially historic storm developing across the prairies today; things could get ugly tonight.

Looks like warmth is all gone, today only got to 64 (18 c) with cloudy skies.
Monday has snow forecast but doesn’t look like we’ll get much unfortunately.

Posted a few from today already, we got a bit of wet snow but nothing too substantial just yet. The blizzard's supposed to move in overnight and indeed the wind seems to be picking up, so tomorrow could be pretty interesting.

GFS is forecasting quite a bit of rain, mainly mid-week for the east coast, in addition to the tropical storm nearing Florida:

This is the 3rd consecutive sunny weekend which is highly surprising. Looking like next weekend will be cold rain.

Very different here, or at my dad's place. 6-7C highs and now -1.6C in Turku (!)
