Most likely the coldest place with a weather station on the Kola peninsula. What i found interesting is that it resembles the coldest places in Swedish and Finnish lapland, as well as finnmark, but is slightly different in some respects. For example, it has reached -50C in two separete winter months (The only nordic place that has managed that is Karasjok to my knowledge). Its February, September and October record lows are all colder than the Swedish absolute minimums, and its December low is colder than that of Finlands absolute minimum. It has also recorded a monthly mean of -28.2C (which is colder than what any station in mainland Norway or Sweden has done) Here's a translation from the russian wiki page about its climate The climate is moderately cold. Winter is long with lingering snowstorms and polar nights, summer is short and cold with fogs and rains. Average temperatures in January-February are β13-15 degrees, in July + 10 + 11. On January 27, 1999, an absolute minimum temperature was recorded for the Murmansk region. - minus 51.1 Β° C [3]. Given the high humidity and strong winds, frosts are very difficult to endure.
Here's more monthly climate data

F+; lethally frigid, but at least it gets some snowfall to make up for it.

F +. Too cold is too cold. Looking at history, it turns out that the only satisfactory month of July was there in 1960 when the daily mean was 18.4c. (Hopefully it was nice there because the days are long).

No redeeming features whatsoever though it does have some impressive record highs in summer compared to those averages.

Very similar to Labrador City, but Labrador city is almost 20 degrees further south. How embarrassing.

E. I would love to travel to this part of the world, but those winters are just too cold and the summers are hopeless. This is the type of climate I think of when I hear the word "subarctic."
