Somebody has been playing with the sunshine hour figures on Wikipedia. They were 2,300-ish and now they're reduced to 2,191. What the hell? Is that the actual figure or is someone trolling Melbourne's climate box? I am not bothered to calculate and convert the daily sunshine hours to monthly figures. Can you guys check up on that and confirm that Wikipedia edit? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melbourne#Climatewww.bom.gov.au/climate/averages/tables/cw_086071_All.shtml P.S. I just noticed that BOM has only recorded Melbourne's sunshine hours for 13 years...From 1955 to 1967. Poor Melbourne, even BOM gave up on it. Lmao. Still, a foolish thing, considering that it's a major city in Australia.

Why did you make this a thread? Anyway they're fine with the 1991-2020 averages (which are from 2 different sites in the city) but they insist on this stupid 1955-1967 sunshine average. Sheesh.
The ~2384 hours is from Melbourne Airport, which has 20 years of sunshine data. Idk why it was changed back though.

People in City-Data are all foreigners and have no idea about Aussie climate stats. Anyway, the editor was Subtropical-Man. He's obsessed with changing climate boxes for his own needs and benefit. The guy removed Sydney's record highs and lows for some reason, but thankfully his edits were reverted.

People often say that the airport is the sunniest place in the metro area, but i highly doubt the difference is 200 hours annually between the CBD and the airport. Not to mention that it's most definitely gotten sunnier between 1967 and now.

That prick gave me a warning about "vandalism" when I added the AEMET records/average humidity back to the Valencia weather box on the main page; he was clearly supporting .

The Airport and CBD stations have 1990 to 2023 solar radiation figures:
