A very autumny start to December. However, yesterday had a -0.2'C mean temperature at the airport, the 4th consecutive sub-freezing mean, meaning that, since today is pretty much guaranteed to be sub-freezing, winter will have officially arrived on the 27th of November meteorologically speaking at the airport. I agree that it's extremely borderline winter, but I know I definitely won't feel like it's winter after the coming week of endless 3-5'C and rain with green grass and virtually no snow.

Interesting temperature dispersion in the eastern US this evening Maine: Florida: Down to 39 here; fast drop a few hours ago. Surprised Maine is still in the upper 50s but the cold front must not have reached there yet

Caribou, Maine hit 60 (16 c), setting a monthly record high for the 2nd straight month.
They also set the June record high which tied the all time record.

Dry and sunny start to December here, despite La Niña...
Currently 29°C with 20° C dewpoint at 7pm... air felt lighter when I was outside earlier this evening...

High was only 38 (3 c) today, the first sub-40 f high since November 10th.
It was dry though with no snow. Meanwhile there’s a random winter storm a few hundred mikes southeast. Over a foot of snow is supposed to fall in parts of Oklahoma and Kansas.

Milwaukee is at 0.1" and some stations Racine to the south probably have has only a trace so far. Odd.

More cold summer mornings in Aus: 0.8C in Warrnambool! Surely that is a record. Warrnambool is a town of 40,000 on the south west coast of Victoria, and the records for all stations in Warrnambool go back to 1897.

The wonders of facing a limitless expanse of extremely cold ocean with no stops inbetween, and the coldest chunk of land in Australia outside the back door. SW Victoria truly has the worst crummers in the world for the latitude. Fuck me dead. A look at all the Warnambool stations on the BOM site, it appears to be an all-time Dickcember record.

First major snowstorm of the season hit. I ended up with 7" of snow, far above the 2-4" forecast. Places just north of Pittsburgh within the suburban limits got nearly a foot!
I was at deer hunting camp when this hit, we got 11-13" of snow (11" at camp, 13" at my hunting stand). Northwest PA in the core of the snowbelt got nearly 2 feet (Corry, PA ended up with 23").
