Posted this in the wrong thread today at 1 AM. We are now up to 111 straight hours in the 32-37 f (0-3 c) range The last 4 days have been 37/32, 36/32, 35/32 and 35/32, all overcast or with drizzle. Terrible for winter but actually kind of interesting how constant the temp is for so long.

Spain broke its nationwide record low this morning; it's also the coldest temperature on record in the Iberian Peninsula. High in the mountains where nobody lives of course... I am surprised the tweet is not in Spanish. I'm learning Spanish and want to read something in Spanish, but I realise it is not Spanish. It's in Catalan language, I suppose. Weird.

After 134 straight hours, weโve finally escaped the 5 f range between 32-37 f.
There was even a light snow last night that dusted the ground!

Well, this cold record probably happened in Catalonia. That's why it's in Catalan. European temperature and air pressure forecast for today. Sorry that Portugal is only partially on the map and there is no Iceland.

Impressive cold in Spain!
Meanwhile, impressive mildness in Saskatoon continues. Our current lows this week are mostly at or above our average highs, and the 14-day forecast shows this continuing for the next 2 weeks, though waning slightly towards the end - but not a single -20C low in that forecast, which is absolutely ridiculous since it goes until January 21st.
Will this actually hold up or will there be a sudden pattern change? Who knows, I don't want to get my hopes up in January in Saskatoon, but this has been a great winter so far and it seems like we'll get at least a little bit more of this. The other plus side of this is that this greatly shortens the real cold season, since if the 14-day forecast is correct then that leaves only a window of about a month and a half for serious deep freezes which is amazing!

Spain broke its nationwide record low this morning; it's also the coldest temperature on record in the Iberian Peninsula. New Jersey also has the same record low of -34. OTOH, snow to hit NC tomorrow. Expecting updates from you. โ34.1ยฐC = โ29.4ยฐF though.

Snow today in western NC, maybe a few mixed flakes in the east. Big snow possible in Texas next week. This includes east Texas.

Tornado in Pinamar (300 km SSE of Buenos Aires); it started as a waterspout, then entered land. It all happened in the context of a spree of severe thunderstorms in the area. Villa Gesell and Pinamar were the worst hit towns by the strong winds, and accumulated between 85 to 190 mm. However, Dolores reached the highest amount of precipitation, with 275 mm in less than 24 hours, causing massive floods.
Only 15 mm in Buenos Aires, and of course nothing interesting happened here.

Actually got a bit cooler than predicted last night, predicted low was 57 F (13.9 C) and it dropped down to to 55 F (12.8 C). Warming up fast this morning and today should be a seasonable day with a high of 76 F (24.4 C) predicted and mostly sunny skies. Mild night tonight, low of only 66 F (18.9 C) predicted, although a cold front tomorrow will usher in much cooler temps for the weekend. Looking forward to that.

alex992 KMIA dropped to 52F despite a predicted low of 60F lol Not often that happens down here, to drop almost 10 F below the forecast low lol. If only this would happen during an actual cold snap... I could tell early on in the evening that last night was gonna get cooler than predicted. There was very little wind with clear skies, not really much to hinder the cooling down process. Last night's forecast called for clouds and an easterly breeze if I'm not mistaken.
