Chilly night in Central FL tonight. Orlando and Tampa UHIs well-noted on these maps. West-Central Florida: There's freeze warnings for those areas like Brooksville and Chiefland. Chiefland has 30 F (-1.1 C) predicted for tonight but a 67 F (19.4 C) high for tomorrow, so there's an outside chance they could have a 40 F diurnal range tomorrow. East-Central Florida: Low temps could drop to around freezing in the frost advisory areas. Orlando with the UHI, a warmer night than even Ft. Pierce which is a good 100 miles further south on the coast. Look at that sharp cutoff of 40 F to 47 F between Ft. Pierce and Stuart. It's usually at that cutoff point where the anal rapage of cold air commences.

After the coming week-long cold spell we're about to have, it looks like temperatures will rise above average yet again. What a ridiculously mild winter this is turning out to be, I love it!

Fairbanks gets those pretty commonly in the winter making their temps spike ridiculously, and then they can potentially go back down to -30 or -40. Hope they can build a nice pool of frigid air though...

Interesting weather patterns nationwide right now: Heavy lake effect snow has moves east, now between Buffalo and Erie, with Dunkirk seeing the heaviest band of snow. Snow showers across pretty much all of western Pennsylvania Snow in Tennessee and West Virginia mountains Snowstorm in the SW, mainly in northern AZ, NM, and the TX & OK panhandles. T storms in Alabama and Mississippi.
Next week, a nor’easter is forecasted to hit NYC. Hope it’s a big one. Cambium would jump with joy.

It's Wednesday, so you know what that means? It's time for Wednesday's Wank of the Day!During the first 19 days of this month, there have been only FIVE (5) lows above avg, and one of them just barely, and the same number of highs above avg. Eleven (11) lows have been BELOW 15C. MTD anomolies are -2.1C for lows and -2.6C for highs. Hope you enjoyed this week's installment, as I have, while I put the business end of a rocket launcher in my mouth

Won’t fall in this time. Also, keep this business off the winter weather threads, ok. This is one place where I like to talk about actual weather events. Weather patterns in the east seem to have fizzled out. A short burst of lake effect snow showers for me tonight. Then, sunny and slightly below normal. Icing should kick off pretty good this week. I can probably skate on it by next week if it remains this way.

Absolutely nothing to write home about. The month has been very stable with most days right about average and only 1 ice day and 1-2 warm days in the upper 50s.
No snow since I’ve gotten here and only 1 light fall this month.
Next week looks dry, stable, slightly below average and boring. At least it’s objectively nice ish weather.

Got up to 73F today. Before today it had not been past 70F this month. January thru yesterday was 4.4F below normal, but the remainder of the month is looking warmer with temps mostly 60F+ and a couple of days in the 70's.

Good morning guys. It’s 19 F now, and mostly cloudy. High of 28 F. Some sun might be possible in the afternoon. An inch of Dry fluffy snow yesterday night, and it looks so pristine outside at sunrise 😊. I’ll post a pic later today. The Northern I 95 corridor seems to be getting some moderate snow showers now. Cambium will see more than a trace and therefore I expect him to be happy on his CD thread. Some flurries expected on Inauguration Day in the DC area, and a pretty average January day with a high in the low 40’s. Chilly rain spreading across Texas.

Russia must really be stealing the cold right now. 2C at midnight in NU. This hour's hot and cold spots ... Hot spot in Nunavut: 1.7 °C 35.1 °F Pangnirtung Siberia really has been the cold pool in the northern hemisphere this winter. There is talk of another SSW occurring which will lob off a piece of the "polar vortex" (hate that term) and they (judah cohen) says it will be displaced over Canada in the coming weeks. We'll see I guess but it's been a maddeningly mild winter so far across the entire continent. I can't believe it really.

Beautiful day today, high was 56 (13 c) after a 16 (-9 c) low.
If we’re not gonna get snow, then this is great weather. Saturday has a chance of snow but otherwise we seem to be entering a stuck pattern with consistent 2-7 c highs and dry air.
