Core of the cold moving into Michigan today. Temps will be stuck in the teens for highs with overcast skies. Single digits at night.

Anti-interesting weather shield. Look how quickly it gets mild moving east tonight, and places at exactly the same latitude as me but on the west coast with lows 10 F cooler than here.

Lmao 58 F in Stuart. What are they smoking? NWS Melbourne office is predicting 52 F...

Yeah, I'm not sure why NWS Miami is always forecasting such warm temps for the Treasure Coast. Almost like they think that area is the exact same as Miami.

What an absolute joke. Literally the same temperature as Miami. Pretty funny considering that even on the map, it shows the 55 F line well SE of Stuart. Makes no sense that they'll have 58 F lol.

After 6 days, the heat wave in Buenos Aires is finally over. It’s been raining until about an hour ago. Right now (2pm) it’s overcast and the temperature is 23.6C. Last days we had this sequence:
Jan 19: 21.2C / 32.5CJan 20: 23.2C / 33.1CJan 21: 22.2C / 31.7CJan 22: 22.6C / 32.3CJan 23: 24.0C / 34.2CJan 24: 25.5C / 35.0CJan 25: 26.0C / 35.5CJan 26: 25.7C / 33.3CJan 27: 22.7C / 32.7C
The heat wave only started officially on Jan 22 when both the minimum and the maximum were above 22C and 32C respectively. All in all, a very lackluster period of hot weather in which the most relevant aspects were its duration and some very hot nights.
Interesting prospects for the weekend across the Southern Cone. A sudestada event might hit Buenos Aires (kind of nor’easter equivalent, circulation-wise), while an unseasonal low pressure system may cause accumulations of about 30-40 mm in Santiago de Chile. If it actually happens it would be absolutely incredible, as Santiago only averages 0.4 mm in January. It is just 12 mm for the 30 Januaries from 1981 to 2010.

Big contrast in temperatures across the UK today, up to 14C in the south of England, but remaining below freezing or just above in parts of Scotland.

NYC gets 16” from the next snowstorm, it would be a snowier than normal season. Let’s hope that happens 😁😁😁. Been a while since the big apple got enough snow to bury a XL pizza box.

With all the attention on the storm out west, Caribou, Maine’s average low is 14.3 f above normal this month!
In fact, it’s warmer than the average March low.
