High Surf along the west coast of the US today, especially the northwest. San Diego through Seattle have advisories in effect. forecast.weather.gov/wwamap/wwatxtget.php?cwa=usa&wwa=High%20Surf%20AdvisoryCanada must have high surf but they do not have the same weather warnings. These are the highest waves from the advisories. Southern Oregon and Northern California, including Eureka, the place with terrible weather. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

We have a 20% chance of snow for tonight. I doubt we'll get anything, but I'd be happy to see some flakes fly.

62/19 (17/-7 c) today, the 3rd 60 f of the month.
The cold lows really aren’t annoying at all. It’s chilly after sunset and I wear a coat then but I’m not out all day so it’s easy to grab a coat. By the time I’m up and about at like 9 AM ish, it’s in the mid 40s and very pleasant in the sun with just a t-shirt.

Yesterday's forecast hasn't been entirely correct, it is mostly cloudy if not overcast in Riga and in central and western Latvia. The airport of Riga has reported -5C though. Snow in NE Europe, as always only Russia in snow:

Apparently a chance of some snow flurries here today and tomorrow. Nothing so far. But overcast and 33F, so it looks like a possibility.

We have a 20% chance of snow for tonight. I doubt we'll get anything, but I'd be happy to see some flakes fly. We wound up getting a 20-minute snow flurry, but it was in the afternoon. That's actually better, because it's easier to see.

Eight days into the month and from what I remember we've had five days of full overcast and three days of almost full sun, either all or nothing.
The typical December here might be about ten completely sunless days, two or three mostly sunny days and the rest of them (ie most days in the month) having about an hour or two of sunny spells but otherwise cloudy.

Today hit 60 (16 c) for the 4th time this month. It was also the 5th 40 f diurnal this month, that’s like 5 years of those for Shitchester.
Relative humidity also dipped below 10% for awhile in the afternoon, first time since September iirc.

We call this weather bare frost - there is frost all day with no snow on the ground. Last night has been the coldest in Riga in the last 638 days, it means since 13 March 2019. The weather station of Latvian University has registered -4.5C. The number is not very impressive, considering how it used to be -20C and even -30C in some winters, especially in the Soviet period. Siberian high is slowly retreating to the East:
