I was trying to make precipitation plots similar to these

for Miami. Checked the numbers of what I was plotting, and found I had months with 30+ inches of rain. Checked on rainy day I had a total of 30 inches of precipitation. Here's Miami's observation history

the 1 hour column has multiple observations in the hour; totaling them all gets > 30 inches of rain. what does it mean? rain in the last hour? from 8 to 10 am, rainfall rises, suddenly falls and then falls again. Looks like the counter is reset just before the end of the hour
more obvious when "show high frequency madis" is on
