Based on the chat in the shoutbox by knot and Yahya Sinwar. Which climate has a more Mediterranean precipitation pattern?

Going to go with Portsmouth. It has much drier summers. Lerwick does have the greater difference between winter and """"summer"""" rainfall, but it definitely remains damp during the entire year. Portsmouth has 5.4 rainy days in its driest month with 32mm, and Lerwick has 53.4mm with 10.8 rainy days.

Lerwickβs wettest month as 2.74 x the precipitation as itβs driest month, Portsmouthβs has 2.89 x as much.
2.89>2.74 so Portsmouth for me.

Of course Portsmouth, due to a greater winter > summer precip ratio. Lerwick's driest month is May, a spring month, which is decidedly un-mediterranean. IMO, winter and spring precip are entirely separate from summer and autumm precip.

Portsmouth. I think Lerwick's is more prominent but Portsmouth has semi-dry summers typical of Med climates.

Even though Portsmouth is βmoreβ mediterranean it wouldnβt feel mediterranean. Itβs βmoreβ mediterranean in the same way Chicago is βmoreβ subtropical than Dublin.

Portsmouth. Doesn't matter how much more precipitation falls in winter than in summer. What counts is whether summer stays below a certain level.
