Well aware of thresholds etc, but I don't regard thresholds as absolutes, only broad parameters. KB just gets too cold, too often, to sit at the tropical table. Too often? I just told you they are a zone 11. What do you even know about KB?

@logan5 A place capable of getting a winter month like this seems pretty tropical...

Compare that to the coldest month in Recent memory: And a typical January:

No thunderstorms to speak of either in motueka Highs would range from 48F -86F, and lows from 24F-65F. Not the best place for thunder, but still averages 9 a year, and I would see or hear storms on about twice that days. AJ's tempetaure charts confirm what I'm saying - can get warm winter months, but also cooler ones that that really don't look tropical. The warmest it gets in the average year is only 86'F? Boooorrriiinnnggg!

The warmest it gets in the average year is only 86'F? Boooorrriiinnnggg! Just pointing out that tarlife's figures were incorrect. I was pretty damn close for a guess though . Either way neither you or me have the stats to back it up ! Either one of us could be right

Either way, that only goes to PROVE that I would be unsatisfied with the amount of warmth Motueka sees in the average year. I cool with that, although I'm more about accuracy, than other's preferences for climate. This is a climate BATTLE. It's not about which is warmer, wetter, or any other objective, measurable attribute. It's all about your own preferences and which climate you would enjoy more (or hate less). You posted the facts, that on average the warmest it gets in Motueka in a year is about 86'F. I made the valid subjective comment that you quoted. There's nothing inaccurate about my comment. It would be weird if my comment in a climate battle thread hadn't been based in subjectivity. I would be unsatisfied by Motueka's IMO cool summers, hence my vote for Key Biscayne, which would for me actually satisfy the feeling of it being summer.

Double posting this from the fall thread. Virginia Key is directly adjacent to Key Biscayne: I found data for Virginia Key Pier (Just east of downtown Miami). POR is only 7 years but worth posting for the hilarious summers. Graph has averages (red) and records (blue lines) Coldest day in the POR was 46/35 (7.9/1.8) in January 2010, hottest was 95/81 (35/27) in June 2009

The accuracy comment was obviously related to tarlife's wrong information about annual temperature range. Try a liitle harder to follow what's been said. Then there was no point in making that post. You corrected him, and my comment directly quoted yours. If the warmest it gets in the average year is only 86'F, damn right I'd be unsatisfied with the summers, and given the context of the thread that's an acceptable comment to make. I feel like you're just trying to follow me around the forum and make snippy responses toward everything I write because you're almost offended that someone doesn't see New Zealand's climates in the shining positive light you do.

Nope, was just correcting an inaccuraccy. Enough with the he said, she said nonsense. You corrected him, I responded to your post with the correct numbers, and you responded back to me with your accuracy comment. Quit being difficult.

Yes, because my orginal comment related to accuracy - not sure why you thought it was about you. Dude, look at your post and my post again. I said: Highs would range from 48F -86F, and lows from 24F-65F. Notice that I directly quoted your post. You then said: The warmest it gets in the average year is only 86'F? Boooorrriiinnnggg! Just pointing out that tarlife's figures were incorrect. Tarlife's next comment basically amounted to "source?", as he's that way and can be difficult. My next post was: Just pointing out that tarlife's figures were incorrect. Either way, that only goes to PROVE that I would be unsatisfied with the amount of warmth Motueka sees in the average year. I never doubted the numbers you posted, @logan5. I simply made the comments that I would be bored and unsatisfied with Motueka's lack of warmth relative to my preferences. That's where it should have ended, without this frankly pointless back-and-forth.

Getting a bit dizzying now. I didn't doubt that you didn't doubt. Okay. Considering that we agree, can we just stop arguing and be done here then?

Okay. Considering that we agree, can we just stop arguing and be done here then? I don't actualy see that we're arguing. I don't want to get into another argument, let alone one about whether we were even arguing in the first place, so I'm just going to end it. Have a nice day.
