Same latitude, very similar climates with some certain differences. Launceston for me as it is warmer in summer and has higher record highs. Better chance of heat overall. I'd imagine Launceston gets more and harder frosts owing to its inland location by maritime standards, precluding the ability to grow coconut palms less cold-hardy plants and having Murray Head write songs about it. Both climates are still gay though and feature next to no storms.

Launceston; due to better summers and winters, and a more Mediterranean precip pattern. Also, Launceston gets snowfall much more often as well (due to winter precip falling in the form of cold fronts, as oppposed to warm fronts). Most recently on 05 Aug, 2020: www.examiner.com.au/story/6866109/122-photos-of-launceston-in-snow/Motueka gets too much warm rain in winter. Launceston gets much colder rain, and thus, occasionally snow.

Launceston for me. Better summers and the rainfall pattern is much better, as well as the sunshine. It also got snow this year, so it's capable of that too.

Launceston - on average slightly warmer through the year, sunnier, better heat potential, and less soggy. Both climates are ass though.

Mouteka for being slightly cooler and cloudier. Prefer the higher rainfall as well.

Launceston has precipitation amounts and days that are closer to my ideal climate, as well as summer temp ranges.
