Kane is a town in Northern Pennsylvania, one of the largest towns anywhere near my camp. It sits relatively high in elevation at 2,210 ft above sea level (675m). Its a town in the middle of the Allegheny National Forest surrounded by mountains. Its close to Lake Erie, which has a huge affect on its climate. Kane is the coldest place in Pennsylvania, and has never reached 100F in nearly a century of records. This area is extremely cloudy, particular in the late fall and winter months due to its proximity to the Great Lakes.
One tidbit to note: Its record low of -35F is farther from freezing (32F) than its record high of 98F

A- for me, could have colder winter highs, but pretty good climate.

I give it a D/D-. It's one of the worst climates in the eastern US IMO.

D. There's no reason the July record low should be below freezing. Summers are in general weak as hell. At least there's plenty of snow in the winter, but winters only slightly warmer than mine are nothing to write home about.

E+ due to very long, extremely cold winters; and pitifully short, boring, wet "summers". Abhorrent precip pattern, and variability in the wrong season (LOL @ those winter recordsโdisgusting). Not to mention that it still manages liquid rain at such bone-crushing temps in winterโฆwarm fronts galore

Summer highs better than here but means stil cooler in every month. Coupled with freezing winters and it has to be a significant downgrade to my current location

B+ or B
Those winter record highs bring it down a lot. Summers are ok but maybe a tad on the wet side.

A- It's a bit too cold, especially in summer, but solid overall. I thought it was similar to your dream climate but with colder summers and less sunshine.

It would be an A- climate if the mean temps would be the average lows.

Its within 1C of Turku's annual mean. Colder in winter, warmer in summer

D. Summers are OK but the rest of the year is too cold for me.

And Turku is C-/D+ depending on the year.
The biggest disappointment with Kane is that the annual average low is at freezing. That's unacceptable.

Indeed. My dream climate has never recorded a freeze in May, and the first freeze in autumn is usually in late October. For those reasons my rating for Kane is bad.

A solid 4-season climate with plenty of year round precipitation. Yeah, it could have colder winters but so could my area. I will give it an A though.

B+/A-. Good four season climate. My biggest issue is the winter is a bit warm and gets quite a bit of rain in the winter months. Very cloudy isn't good either. The rest of the year is good, though summer could be slightly warmer.
