Two towns* whose foremost industries are timber production and forestry, as well as viticulture. Strikingly similar annual mean temperatures (12.7° C for Tumba and 12.9° C for Rose), although with differing diurnal ranges, would make this a good match for sure. *Roseburg is officially considered a regional city, but it's small enough to be considered a large town as well—even by AU standards.IMO, Tumba absolutely shits all over Roseburg due to higher storm activity, as well as the fact that it receives much of its winter rain with cold fronts (as opposed to warm fronts); and thus more snowfall. I also much prefer the heavier showers of Tumba, to the boring drizzle of Roseburg.

Tambarumba for the similar reasons. The amount of storms in summer would be higher, California/southern Oregon has mostly boring summers.

Tough call, but I'll go with Tumbarumba.

Both are pretty awful but I’ll reluctantly go with Tumbarumba mainly for summer storms

Roseburg for better (smaller diurnals), and having a dry summer, which gives more variety to the climate.

Well…this certainly didn't go as expected! Major disparity in favour of Tumba.

Tumbarumba, easiest climate battaile evah!
But seriously, Roseburg is a suicidal climate. I've been there many times (unfortunately). Seeing snow actually fall (let alone snow accumulation) is like Jesus making a second coming. It ain't gonna happen!
Also, the entire area is infested with ticks.

Tumbarumba for summer storms and less ghastly winters.

Tumbarumba. It's wetter but has fewer wet days, both pluses by my standards, and it has more evenly distributed precipitation.

Tumbarumba. More even precipitation, more summer storms, less winter drizzle. I expected it to have a higher record than Roseburg, but Roseburg's lower elevation won out.
