15-day forecast for Winter Haven
Synopsis: The chilly pattern will continue through the first few days of the forecast, with very hard freezes and cool days, then a warming trend to end September although temperatures will remain around average for the time of year. The first couple of days of October will be warmer than usual due to a tropical disturbance moving into the region, bringing heavy rain, high winds, warm temperatures and the threat for flooding, will be an extratropical storm when it hits the region. Cold air will follow behind the storm, and residual moisture will create the first major snowfall of the season, and perhaps the first sub-0 F lows of the year.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sunday (9/23): Mostly sunny and quite chilly, very cold overnight. High: 35 Low: 4
Monday (9/24): Mostly sunny and quite chilly, very cold overnight. High: 35 Low: 5
Tuesday (9/25): Slightly warmer, but still cooler than normal. Morning will start off very cold, but a blustery WSW wind will warm things up pretty quickly through the morning and early afternoon hours. Becoming cloudy in the afternoon and overnight. Winds will be WSW at 20-30 mph, with the occasional gust to 40 mph. High: 43 Low: 28
Wednesday (9/26): Seasonable, with mostly cloudy conditions and a good chance of some rain showers in the afternoon. Rainfall won't be very heavy, but it will be a steady rainfall through the mid-late afternoon hours. Breezy, with an E wind of 15-25 mph, and occasional higher gusts. Rainfall will accumulate to 0.4-0.7". Rain will dissipate overnight and be clear. High: 51 Low: 31
Thursday (9/27): Sunny and seasonable, with a ENE wind blowing in the afternoon at 20-25 mph, occasionally gusting to 35 mph. Will be quite chilly overnight. Very low risk of rainfall at any point in the day. High: 52 Low: 26
Friday (9/28): Sunny and seasonable, with a ENE wind blowing in the afternoon at 15-25 mph, occasionally gusting to 35 mph. Will be quite chilly overnight. Very low risk of rainfall at any point in the day. Wind calming down at night creating a quite cool night. High: 53 Low: 23
Saturday (9/29): Starting off clear and cold, with clouds moving in in the late morning and early afternoon hours, warning of the looming storm. Risk for rain increasing through the mid-late afternoon, with a rather steady rain developing and winds increasing in the overnight hours. Winds will be ESE at 10-20 mph through the morning and afternoon hours, increasing to 20-35 mph in the overnight hours. High: 59 Low: 48
Sunday (9/30): Rain, steadily increasing through the day along with increasing winds. Very mild temperatures along with the heavy rain as the storm draws near. Very high risk of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening/overnight hours, and the rainfall will become quite heavy. Winds will be SSE at 20-35 mph, increasing to 35-50 mph in the afternoon and evening/overnight hours. Rain will accumulate to 2-4". High: 69 Low: 61
Monday (10/1): Very stormy conditions, with heavy rain and strong winds, and strong thunderstorms occurring on and off throughout the day. Temperatures will be very warm for the time of year, as it will be the warm sector of the storm. Winds be out out of the S at 45-60 mph, with occasional hurricane force gusts, and rain will accumulate to 9-12". High: 75 Low: 66
Tuesday (10/2): Starting off very stormy again, but as the storm starts to move away from the region, the rainfall will dissipate until the evening hours. In the evening hours, the backside of the storm will make it's way into the region, ushering in a strong cold front and sharply dropping temperatures behind the front, and the threat of thunderstorms along the front, with snow falling behind the front. Winds will be S at 35-50 mph, switching to NNW at 35-45 mph after the front moves through. Rainfall will be 5-7", the snowfall overnight will be 2-3". High: 71 Low: 18
Wednesday (10/3): Cold, windy, and snowy, with strong NNW winds at 25-40 mph, gusting to 50 mph at times. The strong winds will create low visibility and almost blizzard-like conditions. The snow will dissipate in the evening and overnight hours and skies will clear, creating a very cold night. Snowfall accumulations of 6-10" expected. High: 27 Low: 4
Thursday (10/4): Cold and sunny, with a steady NNW wind at 10-20 mph. Very cold overnight with calming winds. High: 23 Low: -1
Friday (10/5): Cold and sunny, but with calm winds. Temperatures will drop very quickly overnight. High: 24 Low: -4

High: 40 Low: 28
Averages on 9/23 are 57/34 and on 10/7 they're 45/24.
