Summary: Cooler than normal month, mainly due to much cooler than normal highs. Was quite the wacky month, started off warmer than normal through the first five days before a cold front came through on the 6th and brought in seasonably cool conditions. A tropical cyclone struck the area on the 10th/11th of the month with very heavy rain and strong winds, peak wind gust was 89 MPH. Got sharply cooler a few days after the hurricane with a rather long period of colder than average weather from the 14th through the 25th. A quick-moving low pressure system on the 16th brought the season's first snowflakes with no accumulation, first accumulating snow fell on the 25th with an inch but it didn't last very long. Month ended with a surge of warm air. Was the coolest September since 2010, and the third wettest September of all time.
