Christchurch is my choice for being warmer. Perhaps include images of climate boxes as well? Also, climate battle/rate the climate polls belong under the "Climate battles" board.

Christchurch for being sunnier. Christchurch has better summer temperatures, while Coventry has better winter temperatures, and those two effects cancel out for me.

Christchurch for the vastly superior summers, better precip pattern, and snowier winters.
ChCh is decidedly more comfortable as well, with a higher chance of snow on the ground in 2021 (as usual).

Moved this to the climate battles section. Also, I pick Christchurch.

Christchurch is better.
Coventry is more likely to see snow.

Christchurch is more comfortable for being drier and having milder winters.
Coventry is the slightly better climate though.

Coventry is more likely to see snow. Sure, it's more "likely" to see snow i.e. more frequent, but only flurries at best. Drizzle rubbish. Whereas Christchurch is much more prone to heavy snowstorms.

Christchurch is definitely more "comfortable". Coventry is a better climate, however.

Christchurch for being warmer all year round and also for not being Coventry, or rather, Laventry.

That's probably true actually. I was in Cock-entry in January 2010 (a supposedly snowy month) and the dump only had a 0.5" "ice rink", bugger all snow to speak of. I was actually jealous of Buxton, my hometown, for having 10" that month I seem to remember.

Coventry for the colder winters. Shit sunshine hours for sure but not too dissimilar from here so I can cope.

Surprised that Christchurch gets more frosts, but has higher record lows

Surprised that Christchurch gets more frosts, but has higher record lows  Because, like most SH climates, ChCh's annual mean minima are very close to the all-time records. Jun: monthly mean min, –4.7° C; all-time record, –7.2° C Jul: monthly mean min, –4.9° C; all-time record, –6.8° C Aug: monthly mean min, –3.7° C; all-time record, –6.7° C Contrarywise, English mean mins don't usually get anywhere near the records.

Christchurch due to the less cool winters.

I'll go with my hometown, Christchurch (AKA Coldchurch), for being warmer and sunnier (but I voted "neither" on the poll).
As far as snow, ChCh rarely gets proper snowfall. Maybe a few flakes per year up in the hills, but actual accumulating snow down to sea level only happens about once every five years or so. Not sure about Coventry.

I wonder if there was a particular cold blast event that was responsible for setting record lows in Coventry. Kinda like the 1983 cold blast in the USA which was responsible for most of the record lows.

They're both chilly most of the year, really only comfortable in the crummer IMO; I'll go with Christchurch as it is a little warmer on average year-round, though both climates are pretty boring and lame.
