The @josecanyousee97 Climate Classification (rough draft)Group A: Tropical climates
Mean temperature in coldest month must be at least 20'C (68'F).
Second letter: precipitation pattern
w: dry winter; driest winter (Nov-Mar for north; May-Sep for south) month less than 30% that of wettest summer month and less than 60 mm (2.36 in)
s: dry summer; driest summer (May-Sep for north; Nov-Mar for south) month less than 30% that of wettest winter month and less than 60 mm
f: even distribution; every month at least 60 mm
t: semiarid; precipitation total less than aridity threshold (same as K. because I'm lazy, but using 1/3 and 2/3 instead of 30% and 70%) but more than 1/2 of it
x: desert; precipitation total less than half of aridity threshold
Third letter: summer temperature
a: hot summer; mean temp in warmest month at least 28'C (82'F)
b: warm summer; mean temp in warmest month less than 28'C
Group B: Upper mesothermal (warm temperate) climates
Mean temperature in coldest month must be at least 10'C (50'F), but less than 20'C (68'F).
Second letter: precipitation pattern
w: dry winter; driest winter month less than 30% that of wettest summer month and less than 60 mm (2.36 in)
s: dry summer; driest summer month less than 30% that of wettest winter month and less than 60 mm
f: even distribution; above conditions not met, but total precip greater than aridity threshold
t: semiarid; precipitation total less than aridity threshold but more than 1/2 of it
x: desert; precipitation total less than half of aridity threshold
Third letter: summer temperature
a: warm/hot summer; mean temp in warmest month at least 22'C (72'F)
b: mild summer; mean temp in warmest month less than 22'C
Group C: Lower mesothermal (cool temperate) climates
Mean temperature in coldest month must be at least -2'C (28'F), but less than 10'C (50'F); mean temperature in warmest month must be at least 10'C.
Second letter: precipitation pattern
Same as group B.
Third letter: summer temperature
a: warm/hot summer; at least 4 months at least 10'C (50'F) AND mean temp in warmest month at least 22'C (72'F)
b: mild summer; at least 4 months at least 10'C but warmest month cooler than 22'C
c: subpolar; 1-3 months' means over 10'C
Group D: Microthermal climates
Mean temperature in coldest month less than -2'C (28'F); mean temperature in warmest month at least 10'C (50'F).
Second letter: precipitation pattern
Same as group B.
Third letter: summer temperature
a: warm/hot summer; at least 4 months at least 10'C (50'F) AND mean temp in warmest month at least 22'C (72'F)
b: mild summer; at least 4 months at least 10'C but warmest month cooler than 22'C
c: subpolar; 1-3 months' means over 10'C
Fourth letter: winter temperature
q: coldest month mean below -30'C (-22'F); otherwise, no fourth letter
Group E: Polar climates
Mean temperature in all months colder than 10'C (50'F).
Second letter: temperature
Tu: unfrozen tundra; all months at least 0'C (32'F) but below 10'C
Tk: tundra; 1-11 months at least 0'C
F: ice cap; all months less than 0'C
