Napolean, North Dakota 1936. Average high below 0 F (-18 C) in February and above 100 F (38 C) in July. February was the coldest month on record, July was the hottest month on record, It set the all time record high and the February record low which was just 1 F off the all time record low. It was also their driest year on record. Fucking awesome year. jgtheone I think this is the box you want.

What the hell is going on in this year? First the ridiculous April/May, then the ridiculously wet June/July. November looked shitty but then December nicely closed out the year with no rain, decent amount of snow, and cold temps. That May though. And according to Köppen, this would be a Dsc climate...

🖕🏿Mörön🖕🏿 _ Fernie can get some incredibly cold and snowy winters. December 1949-Jan 1950 is legendary. So is January 1969 and 1972. Epic cold AND snow. But May 1983 doesn't seem possible. Are you sure that's not an error? Moron Wet Caribou has great temperatures for me, except for the chilly spring. But the summer rainfall is way too much. AJ would like it if it had much warmer winters. The Mobile wiki box...is there anywhere like that on earth? Extremely wet in all months, but with seasons? I've never seen anything like that.

Madison's snowiest winter of 2007-2008 had over 100 inches of snow. It was a very wet year overall, and the rainfall is much more extreme in my opinion. It's likely that the winter of 1880-1881 had more snow, but the data was not recorded. I'll make a box for that soon. The normal year for snowfall is July to June, but I used August 2007 to July 2008 because it made the year even wetter. This is probably the wettest 12-month period on record for Madison. Madison has only recorded 9 months with over 10 inches rainfall, and two of them are in this box. I did not live in Madison in 2007-2008, but I remember a lot of flooding where I was in June 2008 as most of the rain came within a few days. Months in the top-10 for precipitation February - 5th April - 4th June - 1st, tied for second wettest month ever August - 1st, wettest month ever November - 6th driest December - 6th wettest Months in the top 10 for snowfall: February - 2nd December - 3rd October was the 7th warmest, and 87F is tied for 5th warmest October temperature.

This period between July 2010 and June 2011 is what broke an 8 year drought. As you can see, it is below average, cloudy and wet. However, it was a necessary evil. Also idk how 40C was even managed during all of this.

Here’s Rochester 1953. That was the 3rd and last year we hit 100, since then the highest temp has been 98. Very interesting summer with lots of extreme heat despite not averaging that hot. It was the T-49th warmest summer yet was 2nd for 95+ days and 13th for 90s.

🖕🏿Mörön🖕🏿 all your boxes disappeared. Edit: Fixed! Alta, Utah 1983. Alta is a town near Salt Lake City which is known for Alta Ski Area. According to wikipedia, this was the wettest year in the mountain west. The winter of 1982-1983 and the winter of 1983-1984 both received over 800" of snow! 1983 was the snowiest calendar year. Alta normally has dry summers ( see wiki box), almost dry enough to qualify for Dsb. This year was much wetter than normal and a lot of it fell as snow. The last day with spring snow cover was July 4th. Some epic stretches of snow in the spoiler. First stretch is late March to early April. Average over 10" a day for 16 days. Some months had a lot of missing data for low temps. I calculated the average range for the days that had data, then subtracted that from the average high. This number is the average low and it should be within a degree. US units: Metric units: The entire month of December was insane. Constant heavy snow. One dry day on the 29th. US units Metric

1995 had an extremely snowy July here: Also note the abrupt warmup from July to August, and the ridiculous plateau in spring (and into Dickcember).
