Both NSW climates on opposite ends of the state. I'm gonna have to go with Coffs on this since Broken Hill is dry as fuck, although it does have better winters than Coffs. Also, how the hell does Coffs have a colder record low than Broken Hill. Really puts to shame Broken Hill.

Coffs Harbour. I was gonna choose Broken Hill initially until I saw how dry it is, cancels out the slightly better winters.

Actually, the Royal Flying Doctor Service Site at the Broken Hill Airport ( where temps were officially recorded between 1979 and 1985 ) has recorded a -4.5c in June and a -6.6c in July. The Wiki Airport stats have not included this data on their page.

Didn't look quite right with Coffs having a colder record than an inland climate.

Buttcrack Hill. More variety and its number of storms is closer to Cocks Harbour than here anyway.

Coff's Harbour. I love the combination of year-round warmish temps, rainfall and sunshine. But Brokeback Hill is fine, too!

Coffs Harbor. (I know, I know, how out of character for me to pick the colder one.) But I like the precip pattern more.

Didn't look quite right with Coffs having a colder record than an inland climate. There was an epic Spring Polar Outbreak in Oct 1995 that produced some decent snowfalls throughout the South Australian mid north right up to Peterborough. Over the NSW border at Broken Hill, the temp maxed out at 6.1c ( 43f ) in Town and 7.5c ( 45.5f ) at the Airport. Broken Hill does record a sub 10c max most winters, however the Oct 25th 1995 6.1c is the all time lowest max temp for both of the official BOM sites.

Broken Hill in a heartbeatβno contest whatsoever. Much colder and cloudier winters, and legendary summers with truly unrelenting heat.
Also, Candle, it's actually pretty common for inland NSW climates to have similar or even milder record low mins than their coastal counterparts. Inland NSW is significantly cloudier and windier than the coast in winter, and by a long shot; and thus record low maxes are tremendously colder.

Coffs Harbour, both have terrible winters so Iβm going with the better summer.
