Which climate would you rather choose: Tromso, a relatively mild subarctic climate in the arctic circle: Houghton, A hemiboreal climate in the mid latitudes: Both places have great hiking and winter sports nearby. I choose Houghton, because more sun and I love heading up north for recreation

Houghton for having warmer summers, and being sunnier and more interesting in general.

Houghton easily - more continental, snowier (probably), and probably has more thunderstorms.
Btw - you should screenshot the climate tables and upload them to your Imgur. They come out a lot bigger and more clear than attachments.

Houghton has something resembling a brief summer, but dreadful winters. If forced I'd have to pick Houghton but those winters can bugger off.

For those who dislike both, I have a 3rd option.

Option 3. Both F climates. If I had to pick, it would be Tromsรธ. If I am going to endure subfreezing temperatures for part of the year, I want to at least be rewarded for it to have a better chance of seeing northern lights which are beautiful.

Houghton for better winters and summers. Just a better climate, although I wouldn't mind Tromsรธ's climate too much.
The lack of sun is the biggest drawback but that has more to do with latitude than the climate itself.

Houghton easily. Tromso is far too cool in the summer, and probably gets close to zero thunderstorms.
My ideal climate would essentially be Tromsoโs winters and Houghtonโs summers.

Tromsรธ is a great subarctic climate with lots of precipitation and I love those sunlight hours. I love Houghton and went up there during winter since it didn't snow enough in my area of Michigan. Houghton is great because the people there like winter and don't hide in the house because it is cold or snowing.
I will give a slight edge to Houghton for being more continental though I wouldn't complain at all about Tromsรธ.

Houghton. If you put Houston instead of Houghton, that'd be more difficult to choose.

Both subarctic crap winters, but Houghton easily.
Reminds me of NorthStarDelight who used to love that climate.
