A battle between an ocean-moderated island tropical climate and a very hot and dry monsoon-influenced one, at almost the exact same latitude. Both are capable of receiving tropical storms. Is the intense heat in Fitzroy worth the relief at night in the comfortable season and the spectacular thunderstorms?

Fitzoy Crossing easily. The more "moderate" heat in Kingston is much more humid either way, so it's not gonna feel all that moderate. The epic thunderstorms and cool winter nights are well-worth the more oppressive heat.

This, and also Fitzroy Crossing errs on the side of dry heat all-around; average afternoon dew points in FC only reach 69°F in February, even during the height of the wet season. www.bom.gov.au/climate/averages/tables/cw_003006_All.shtml

Kingston for the higher dews and warmer record lows, but both of these are very respectable climates.

Both wonderful climates but I will give it to Kingston for less extreme summers and better winters.
A- Fitzroy Crossing A almost A+ for Kingston

It’s close. Fitzroy crossing has something resembling a cool season and interesting heatwaves but the 7 month dry season is deathly boring.
Never mind. Wiki says “thunder is extremely rare” in Kingston. Fitzroy Crossing it is.

More heat, more storms, more cold…more everything, really.

Kingston for me.
Fitzroy is nearly bone dry 7 months out of the year. Boring.
