Not necessarily, Leeds still gets more shelter from the Pennines than Bradford even though the two are so close - see the big jump in sun hours from Bradford (even if from the year 2000 on it averages something like 1350, not the really low 1981-2010 average) to Church Fenton to see what I mean.
I suppose really you should say a typical Leeds climate would be something in between Bradford and Church Fenton, but if you had to choose one site then Church Fenton would be the one even if it's maybe a bit flattering.

Yeah, I see what you're getting at, but we need to give Dunno the worst climate within reason.

Yeah, I see what you're getting at, but we need to give Dunno the worst climate within reason. Just tell him that Buxton and even Aberdeen got more votes than him

Leeds Weather Centre yes, no idea at all why they closed that down but they kept the one in Church Fenton which nobody's ever heard of lol

Leeds Weather Centre yes, no idea at all why they closed that down but they kept the one in Church Fenton which nobody's ever heard of lol This would be the equivalent of shutting down LWC/Greenwich/Kew/Heathrow and then using Wisley for London's averages. Two of those have already been shut down!

Tricky one between Heathrow for warmer summers, and Portsmouth for more sun.

Didn't remember this thread, so I thought it was about Hugh Dowding, Keith Park, Adolf Galland and others.

Buxton, easily. Snowiest winters.

London - far and away over the others. Lived near London for 12 years (1991-2003). It actually has some possibility of summerlike weather. Northern England (Buxton, Sheffield and Lincoln) are all more similar to each other than to London in my personal experience, mostly in the sense of having bullshit cold summers.

Portsmouth for me for having the mildest winters and being able to grow the most Subtropical vegetation.

Ipswitch for seeming to be the most continental.

These are all terrible (I feel really bad for whoever lives in Lerwick) but I pick Portsmouth for being the least cloudy.

Probably Ipswich for the same reason as Oklahoma Operator.

Portsmouth for me. Lived there too, well Gosport, and it's actually alright. Portsmouth sun with London summer temperatures would be pretty nice.

London. Not a fan of Portsmouth's smaller diurnal range despite having pleasant summer.

London. Portsmouth takes too long to warm up in spring. You just don't ever get the chance of 18-20c days on the coast in March or April.
London temps with Portsmouth summer sun would easily be the best climate in the UK.
