Although Norfolk's higher sunshine is tempting.

Norfolk Island for being sunnier and less muggy Trust me, the summers can be extremely muggy, my first 2 or 3 days there the whole island was socked in due to mist/low clouds/fog and they closed the airport. The motel i was staying at ( indeed the whole island except the hospital and telsta facility ) had no aircon. My room had moisture/dew running down the inside walls, the bedclothes, chairs etc felt damp. And like a horror movie set on the Yorkshire moors, the mist/fog flowed through the front door and out the back door....was really freaky and the only time I've ever seen that before. But it cleared up and one day the max temp got to nearly 28c, enough to have a swim at one of the only 2 sandy beaches. I know Norfolk Island is pretty humid, but instincts tell me that it's still less oppressive than Chichi. |
