Some of you will remember ''Lonington'' Lonington is a big metropolis the Largest City it is located 200 miles (east) from an inland sea which produces higher winter precipitation for locations on the eastern side of the sea (especially the immediate coastal areas) 200 miles in the opposite direction is the pacific ocean which can spawn deep areas of low pressure. Winters are mostly cold inter spread with some brutally cold shots (down to -30c) and milder thaw periods (up to 8c) Winters are very temperamental though the effects of the oceans nearby as a stabilising effect on the worst of the temperature extremes. The most characteristic part of the winter climate is indeed the temperature swings (-8c one day +8c another) but also blizzards brought about by sea-effect snow from the west and ''East Coast lows'' Summers are warm, more stable and moderately thundery. Some summer days however can be cool if winds direct off the northern part of the inland sea which happens frequently. Heatwaves are common but rarely severe... The shoulders seasons are mostly mild but can be bipolar switching from mid-winter like conditions to summer conditions and forth.

I remember Lonington, and it gets a D from me as just another cold-winter, cool-summer, continental climate

Solid B climate, quite nice but could use a little more continentality and the diurnal ranges are a bit too narrow for my liking.

D. Winters are too cold and snowy, and summers are lackluster.

B+ Just a touch too cool year-round, and winter is too cloudy. But overall a good four-season climate.

D+. Too cold, too much light snow, too much cold rain. Temps fall off a cliff in September too.

E, somehow you took Binghamton and actually made it worse. Thatโs impressive

D+. Too cold, too much light snow, too much cold rain. Temps fall off a cliff in September too. I like a bit of summer heat but by Mid September I want it gone...
