Socotra is too hot for the most part, but it's easier to deal with than the constant cold in Kerguelen Islands.

The oceanic influenced tundra one.

Kerguelen, easily. I'd much rather be constantly cool/cold than constantly sweating. Kerguelen is a horrible climate though, don't get me wrong, but not nearly as horrible as Socotra.

Kerguelen, but very reluctantly. Theyβre both awful.

Socotra. Kerguelen doesn't even have a nice winter.

Kerguelen, itβs not overly wet and itβs more comfortable.

Both are bad but I'll go with Port-aux-Français as it has more variation.
Socotra would be the winner if it wasn't so monotonous.

Socotra. It's not good but it's a LOT better than KerGAYlen.

Why would anyone prefer an inhospitable tundra climate over a tropical paradise?

Socotra, the temperatures are basically perfect although it is far too dry.

Kerguelen
Very easily. Much more actual weather, and 79 snowy days per annum @ Port-Aux-Français.
Also, the poll results are surprisingly even! I would've thought it to be lop-sided in favour of Socotra.

Socotra easily. It's not that bad, Socotra climate is milder than the neighboring climates on the continents.

Socotra, although I wouldn't particularly like either and would hate the constant, strong winds in both places.

Socotra averages 30 mph winds in July, for the record. I can't imagine living in a place that windy. Kerguelen is tranquil by comparison, with a max monthly average of only 20 mph in late winter. Kerguelen is more windy overall though.
