Young adulthood (mostly Appleton)- December 21, 2010: my 18th birthday was snowed out.
- March 22-23, 2011: didn't feel like spring break when we got a foot of snow
- April 19, 2011: at least this time, it was thundersnow!
- June 7, 2011: 97 F (36 C)
. Too bad other days that month were marred by highs as low as 55 F (13 C) and cold rain.
- July 2011: near-perfect month. Had a 79 F (26 C) LOW at my house on the 20th. Consistently warm, good storms, and no 40s.
- September 21-26, 2011: cutoff low took its sweet time, giving us nearly a week of cold temps and periods of gay rain
- October 3-12, 2011: prolonged Indian summer, over a week of mostly upper 70s-lower 80s
- January 2012: very mild, average high was above freezing
- March 2012: fucking epic. Warmest on record by a big margin. 5 days in a row over 70 F, including an 82 F (28 C) high on the 21st!
- July 5, 2012: WE DID IT, WE HIT 100! (38 C), first time since 1995! Epic and legendary month with an equally legendary heat wave - and strong storms on the 17th too.
- December 3, 2012: high was 63 F (17 C) on my PWS
- December 20, 2012: 10" (25 cm) of snow on the eve of my 20th birthday.
- March 2013: almost as cold as January 2012. Disgusting, especially compared to the record warm March the previous year.
- July 2013: had both a nice 5-day stretch in the 90s
, and a high of 61 F (16 C)
- 4 consecutive months at least 9 F (5 C) colder than average, Dec 2013 through March 2014. That winter was something else.
- May 12, 2014: woke up to epic storms
- November 27, 2014: low of -1 F (-18 C) on Thanksgiving
- February 2015: suicidally cold and dry
- September 2015: excellent month, started off with two 90 F (32 C) highs at my house and huge epic storms. Only four days failed to hit 70 F (21 C).
- December 2015: warmest on record, even had some mid-50s and a huge rainstorm. Still ended up snowier than average as well, thanks to the 28th. Took the day off from work because I didn't want to drive in that. Exactly what a winter month in WI should be.
- February 2, 2016: thundersnow
- September 2016: broke a record by not going below 46 F (8 C) the entire month
- November 2016: warmest on record, with barely any snow and upper 60s as late as the 18th.
- January 2017: mild, with plenty of ice and cold rain
- February 22, 2017: 63 F (17 C) on my PWS
, even warmer officially!
- September 22-25, 2017: warmest weather of the season, unusually. 91 F (33 C) officially, after the equinox! At my PWS it topped out at 88 though, allowing 2017 to join 2004 and 2014 as the "years without a 90" in my memory.
- November 2017: ridiculous cold start, then 60s on Black Friday.
- January 11, 2018: upper 40s on my way to work! Too bad a front came through and the warm low didn't stick.
- April 13-16, 2018: ridiculous late-season snowstorm was the biggest of the season.
- May 27, 2018: 97 F (36 C), second-warmest May temp on record and the warmest of the entire year!
- August 26-28, 2018: over 6" (150 mm) of rain in three days of off-and-on severe storms, was one of those crazy "didn't believe the forecast until it happened" events.
- October 2018: strong start with some upper 70s and storms; then went straight to winter after the 9th.
- January 30, 2019: -9 F (-23 C) HIGH. -26 F (-32 C) low the next day was the coldest in my memory.
- May 1, 2019: high of 42 F (6 C)
- July 19-20, 2019: two rounds of severe storms, one Friday evening and another Saturday around noon. Saturday's event knocked out power across the city.
- September 2019: really wet with over 9" (280 mm) of rain. At least most of it was from storms as opposed to gay cold rain.
- October 31, 2019: white Halloween
- December 29, 2019: 50 F (10 C) high and rain on the day of my family Christmas gathering.
- April 2020: first April on my PWS not to hit 70 F (21 C)
- October 22, 2020: epic cold-weather thunderstorms bringing over 3" (80 mm) of rain. Month as a whole was utter shite though.
- November 3-10, 2020: extended late-season Indian summer, with 5 consecutive days in the 70s!
- May 27, 2021: was 40 F (4 C) and pissing down cold rain as I left work
- October 2021: good month, lots of mild cloudy days with lows in the 60s. Ended up over 6 F warmer than average.
- December 15-16, 2021: epic warm front, saw lightning and had a 2 AM high of 62 F (17 C)
- March 5, 2022: more epic cold-weather thunderstorms; severe farther south
- May 12, 2022: 94 F (34 C), third-warmest May temp on record.
Next day was a perfect weather day, 92/65 (33/18) with a good lightning show in the evening from a nearby thunderstorm. And it was a Friday.
My 30s (Madison)- September 1, 2022: living in a place without AC for the first time gave me an indoor high temp of 87 F (31 C)
- November 2022: four non-consecutive days in the 70s, including as late as the 10th
- December 21-23, 2022: cruel way to celebrate my birthday, most of the day was in the single digits. Then Friday the 23rd had a high of -3 F (-19 C), our coldest December high since 1989!
