Thread is as it says, weather events that stand out in your memory from previous years. They can include anything from your earliest ever memories of the weather, and be from any location you were in at the time. These have to be memories you have, not just weather events where you were, that you don't remember.
They don't have to be particularly exceptional, just things in the memory.
Starting with my first major weather memory:
1990: A blizzard overnight 8th/9th December I believe, with a powercut and about 1 foot of snow falling, lived in Staffordshire at the time.
1991: My first thunderstorm memory. Woke up to loud thunder in early hours of 6th July, and I remember wondering why my little sister who was only 1 year old hadn't woken up but I had (she could sleep through an earthquake) 1994: A thunderstorm in late July in Skipton, when we were staying at a 5 star hotel, power went out, fire alarm, major hailstorm during our first evening meal. 1995: The very dry, hot August. Lived in SE England (Windsor) at the time. No rain at all that month, also very hot and dry in France on holiday, and I remember back in Windsor the grass was all dead. 1996: A very sunny dry summer, we spent much of it camping in southern England, didn't rain at all. 1996-1997: Cold spell around New Year with heavy snow and blizzards on my first and only trip to Scotland.
1997: A major thunderstorm when on our first night camping on the island of Jersey, Channel Islands. Man got burned by a ground current from lightning not far from us.
1998: My first visit to Buxton to see relatives in April, snowed. Never seen snow in April before living in SE England at the time. 1999: Intense lightning storm on 3rd July at 3AM with lightning several times a second, outside was lit up like daylight some of the time. Then in France a loud CG barrage type thunderstorm one night in August which blew up the power in the village. Christmas Eve 1999 a major windstorm that blew over a tree infront of our front door and caused other damage. 2000-2001: New Year heavy snow when we spent the holiday in Buxton at our holiday home. I got hypothermia in the cold due to not being properly prepared.
2001: A thunderstorm on my birthday when we went to "Thorpe Park", getting soaked in the line for a white water rapids ride.
2003: The sunny, warm, dry summer stands out. Moved to Buxton that year.
2004: Saw my first thundersnow in Buxton. August was a thundery month. 2006: July being unusually warm and sunny. September had a tornadic thunderstorm with bad CG lightning when I was in Lincoln
2007: The year I started recording the weather. I remember a very high frequency of thunderstorms in June when I was in Lincoln (12 storms in 12 days), then washout cold wet July. 2008: White easter (23rd March) Lots of hailstorms and snow in April. Crap summer. 2009: A thundery July. 2010: Cold January & December, having 14-15" of snow in Buxton in the latter. 2011: I remember the summer having no thunder whatsoever and being very cool. The only thunderstorm happened on 6th October after an autumn warm spell.
2012: The summer was memorably cold and wet. 2013: An unusually strong squall line thunderstorm in January, then big snow in March with 14". Cold spring, warm July. 2015: Supercell storms moving past to the NW on a hot day 1st July. An unusually mild December. 2016: A heavy snowstorm in March, then I went on holiday in Dubai, where there were major thunderstorms and street flooding during my stay. April had loud thundersnow in Buxton. September 13th had a strong thunderstorm with frequent lightning. 2018: The "Beast from the east" when I lived in a particularly cold apartment in Buxton, which got down to 2°C indoor temperature. Then the dry, sunny spring/early summer. 2019: Breaking the February and July temp records with 36°C in July. 2020: Thunderstorm flooding the road I live on in June.

I remember the weather of my birthdays from way back because the party programme was mostly dependent on it, and I have vague memories cheering about snowfall as a kid. Then I have other memories to which I remember the weather but the point of the memory is not weather related.
My first real weather memory is the epic 2003 heat wave which lasted pretty much all summer. Everything was parched and my father said we have "tropical weather" lol. Next memory is the legendary July 2006, the World Cup was here in Germany so everything was one big party and it was the hottest month on record, with many thunderstorms too. One of the best times of my life. Then December 2010, which was very cold and extremely snowy, I remember the last day of school before Christmas holidays was a winter wonderland, just the perfect Christmas setting and mood.
Since about that time I have been deeply interested in weather and can remember any major weather event.

Cool thread!
Here's some of my weather memories:
- First one I ever had was a big rainstorm when I was very little in Caracas, Venezuela - in the mid 90s sometime (probably 95-96). I remember big claps of thunder, extremely heavy rainfall, and losing power. This is the only weather memory I have of Venezuela as I moved to the states in 1998 when I was still only six years old.
- Moving to the states in June 1998, June 1998 was a very hot month here (averaged 3.3 F / 1.8 C above normal, which is a pretty significant variation by summer standards here) and I do remember it being scalding hot on a lot of days, and being careful not to burn myself with the seatbelt in the car whenever I got in. I also do remember some big thunderstorms/lightning storms from my childhood during 98-99.
- Waterspout that went through my apartment complex in May 2000. I remember I was playing basketball at the courts with my brother and some friends, and the sky turning very green with mammatus-like clouds. Then, the sky got eerily dark and we ran inside, started storming really bad and I noticed a funnel developing in the detention lake behind the apartments we lived in, a waterspout developed and we had severe winds that looked like whiteout blizzard conditions for about 10-15 minutes. First "tornado" I experienced.
- NYE 2000 / NYD 2001. Remember it being very chilly by our standards, I remember having to bundle up pretty thickly to be outside celebrating. Looking at weather data, NYE 2000 had temperatures of 54/38 (12.2/3.3) which is indeed very chilly by our standards. December 2000 / January 2001 in general were quite cool months down here.
- Strong cold snap in January 2003. This was January 23-24, 2003. I remember January 23rd was a pretty seasonable day, and I went to the movies with my parents and the Weatherbug app was reading 68 F (20 C) which is pretty typical for a January early evening here. But a very strong cold front came through while we were in the movies, it was already down to 49 F (9.4 C) when we came out, and the following morning (January 24th) my weatherbug app was reading 31 F (-0.6 C). Airport has a low of 35 F (1.7 C) for January 24, 2003 but I lived quite far inland back in those days. High of only 54 F (12.2 C) on January 24th as well.
- I remember going to Daytona Beach for Spring Break 2003 and it being quite chilly the whole time. Pretty sure it was early March 2003, don't remember all the details though.
- January 2004, visiting Upstate NY for a winter vacation, visiting the baseball Hall of Fame. They were having a major cold wave at the time in Upstate NY, and this is when I experienced the coldest temperature I've ever experienced (-36 F / -37.8 C in Saranac Lake on January 15, 2004).
- 2004 hurricane season. That was one destructive hurricane season.
- Cold snaps in December 2004, I remember one mid-month and it being quite chilly even mid-day celebrating my cousin's birthday (his birthday is December 15th). That day had 68/42 (20/5.6) temps here, but I believe the 68 F was recorded in the morning hours and it was in the 50s and low 60s mid-afternoon. I also traveled later that December up to Chicago, they had just had a snowstorm in the region and we stayed in Nashville on the way up, was quite cold in Nashville (lows around -10 C, highs below freezing) and it was actually milder in Chicago than Nashville. Solid snowcover too everywhere north of mid-TN.
- Going out west in August 2005, I remember how cool it'd be near the Pacific Coast compared to inland, also how chilly at night it was in the high deserts of Eastern CA and NV (near the Lake Tahoe region). Also the trip I experienced the hottest temperature I've ever experienced (108 F / 42.2 C in Las Vegas).
- Hurricane Wilma in October 2005, of course this one sticks out a lot. Very destructive hurricane and there were people down here that didn't have power for weeks and even some people that didn't have it until late November / early December that year.
- Visiting Europe in December 2005 / January 2006, was quite cold the entire time. Europe had a pretty cold winter in 2005-06 if I remember correctly.
- Going to Northern GA in late October 2006 to scope out the area we were going to move to, they had quite a cool October that year and we arrived up there with peak fall colors, very very beautiful. First time in my life that I experienced such beautiful colors, and the weather they had was idyllic fall weather too (highs in the upper 50s/low 60s, lows in the 30s).
- Frigid weather in February 2007 going up to the mountains of NC (had move to Northern GA already), was in the teens/low 20s and very windy up in the mountains with occasional snow showers, dropped into the single digits at night.
- Spring heat wave in late March 2007 that brought temps of 30+ C to Northern GA and got all the plants blooming and leafing out, only for them to be wiped out by a major early April cold snap that brought hard freezes to the region.
- Random very cold day in mid-April 2007 in Atlanta, went to a Braves game and it was 40 F (4.4 C), cloudy, and very windy mid-day. I remember even seeing some snow flurries falling down.
- August 2007 heat wave, that was brutal. Consistent highs of 95+ for about a month and multiple days in the triple digits just as school was starting, I remember hating it.
- Two 3-4" snowfalls that fell in Northern GA within three days of each other (one snowfall was on January 16, 2008, the other on January 19, 2008) and it also got quite cold after the second snowfall. Snow stuck around for a bit too and it felt like I was living in a more northerly climate for a bit. Nice novelty.
- Strong cold snap down here in January 2009, and in early February 2009.
- Visiting New England in December 2009 after they had a big blizzard, seeing massive amounts of snow everywhere.
- January 2010 and winter 09-10 in general, fucking epic, had a hard frost inland with highs in the 40s.
- December 2010. Needs no words. Just a fucking amazing month.
I'll add more onto this later.

I also have a memory of something weird I can't place a date to, when I was a child back in the 90's some time. I was walking past the arched window in the hallway at our house in windsor, which had a stained glass pane just inside the main window pane. As I walked past, there was a terrific explosion like a cannon shot and the stained glass pane jumped off the window and onto the window ledge, and I jumped out of my skin. I can only guess that it was a very close thunderclap except it wasn't high pitched at all but very "bass" like a sonic boom. Doubt it was the latter though as I lived a few miles away from Heathrow and military jets wouldn't be flying that near to all the traffic there or supersonic over populated areas.
Other things I thought of:
I remember attending a meeting in an office building in Lincoln, on the ground floor of a 5 story building, in July 2009. I was facing toward the window when I noticed it went from dry to curtains of torrential rain in a few seconds flat, so I couldn't see across the street. I pointed out the rain to the guy I was talking to but then the whole ceiling of the building starting making loud rattling and shaking noises, which was freaky.
Oh, one funny memory from maybe September 1999, I was into thunderstorms quite a bit by then and I went outside with my camera as one was finishing, and my little sister came out with me. There was a very close strike and loud thunderclap and she cried and ran back into the house.
Buxton has a grim climate even compared to most of England but one thing it used to be able to get was thundersnow, due to being on the windward side of the high ground which lifted unstable NW'ly airmasses over it unlike the leeward side. These are the ones I recorded:
1st February 2008 - lightning blew up the anenometer at the local weather station 4th December 2011 - close clap of thunder in a sleet/snow shower in the evening 27th January 2012 - nearby thunder in sleet/snow showers early PM 26th January 2013 - lightning and thunder after dark with strong wind, several inches of snow on ground 31st January 2013 - 4:30AM strong squall line with hail and snow, frequent loud claps of thunder and bright lightning 4th February 2013 - a few flashes of lightning and thunder rumbles in evening during snow showers 23rd January 2014 - clap of thunder during sleet/snow showers evening 11th December 2014 - a thunderstorm with 4 claps of thunder and lightning at about 4AM 28th January 2015 - flash of lightning and thunder during evening snow showers 26th April 2016 - bright lightning and loud thunder in snow showers mid-afternoon 27th February 2017 - lightning and rumble of thunder in snow showers PM 16th January 2018 - big flash and clap of thunder early AM when I was on toilet

December 2000 - my first memory of snow. A storm dropped 5" a couple days after Christmas where I lived in Cape May County, New Jersey.
April 2002 - visiting DC during cold weather. I remember it being quite cold and windy, but very sunny. Looking at that month, it seems like it was warmer than average in general, but I guess we ended up going on one of the cold days.
November or December 2004 (don't remember which) - we went up to Connecticut for the weekend to take a took at the new town we were going to move to. The weather was dreary and overcast and remember it setting a very gloomy and depressing tone for the trip.
January 2005 - One of my most vivid weather-related memories ever. We moved from NJ to CT during a blizzard and extreme cold. It snowed the entire drive, which ended up taking hours longer than anticipated. We didn't get to our new house until long after dark. The snow was so heavy and it was so dark that we couldn't tell the difference between the lawn and the driveway, so we woke up the next morning and saw our U-Haul parked in the middle of the lawn. It was in the single digits F when we arrived and I remember having to bundle up inside because it took so long for the heat to start working. This snowfall was followed by the coldest temperature I've ever experienced in my life, -2 F on the morning of the first day at my new school.
November 2005 - Crisp and sunny weather during a weekend trip to Litchfield County in the NW corner of CT
February 2006 - Very cold, sunny weather during President's Day weekend. We took a trip to the New London area.
September 2006 - the remnants of Hurricane Ernesto caused a tree to fall across the road about a mile from our house. We had to walk the rest of the way in torrential rain and wind.
August 2007 - Torrential rain in Queens, NYC on our way to JFK for our trip to Las Vegas. It caused a massive traffic jam and almost made us miss our flight.
November 2008 - cold rain and sleet during an overnight school trip to a camp in Colebrook in northern CT. I distinctly remember the forecast showing snow and was excited, but instead it was just constant dismal rain in temps barely above freezing. It was also the first time I had spend a night away from home, so I felt like shit the whole time and the weather just made it worse.
January 2009 - a distinctly cold month in Connecticut. Many single digit lows that month.
July 2010 - another trip to Las Vegas with extremely hot weather. One day it reached 113 F, the hottest temp I've ever experienced.
December 2010 - a much colder than average month in Florida. I have an especially fond memory of some day where it started off warm, and by the time school had ended, a front had passed and it was chilly and breezy. There's something nostalgic about that day that made me really love days like that. Lots of our tropical vegetation in our garden died that month. We reached our all-time record low of 26 F and had our coldest month on record.
January 2014 - the month where I first really started paying attention to the weather. We had several cold snaps and also a day with record-breaking rainfall.
February 2017 - the only time I witnessed accumulating snow while living in New Mexico. About 1" fell during the night completely unforecast, but it turned to rain and all melted by the next morning.
May 2018 - Severe thunderstorms and tornado in eastern Kansas during a college design competition
December 2018 - Absolutely atrocious weather during my drive back home to Florida from New Mexico. Extremely windy with snow for the first half in NM and Texas, then heavy rain the whole rest of the way to FL.
May 2019 - a very cool and wet month in New Mexico
Spring 2020 - a very dry and warm spring in Florida. We had our driest month on record, as March only recorded 0.01" of rain.
December 2020 - the coldest Christmas during my time living in Florida. While December 2010 was cooler overall, this set a new record for coldest Christmas Day. The high was only 54 F.

Pointless to cite all the memories from after 2008 as I've been a weather geek ever since.
From before that date, the one that stands out was the blizzard of late Feb/early March 2005. I was up in the Jura highlands for a skiing holiday. February 28 was brutal, with a fierce NE wind howling through the NE/SO oriented valley, resulting in blowing powerdey slow blocking roads in no time. Of course the sky was at its bluest. Afternoon temps stayed in the negative double digits. The sound of the wind in the chimney that night was music to my ears. The morning after, the temp had plummeted to the mid -20s and the wind had calmed down. Everything was still and silent, man it was beautiful.

These are the memories that come to mind:
Blizzard of '96 - Earliest weather memory. Only 5 years old but the snow was way above my head. I got stuck in the snow while looking for the mailbox and my mother had to come out and get me. I'm sure she was thrilled about that. Also remember sledding with my brother and neighborhood kids.
September 1999 - Hurricane Floyd. Heavy rain and strong winds
Snowstorm New Year's Eve 2000
Snowstorm early December 2002 - around 5 or 6 inches
Snow/ice storm April 2003
Tropical Storm Isabel in September 2003
Cold January 2004
Cold April 2007
December 2008 ice storm
2009-2011 winters: They seemed extra stormy in general (rain, snow and wind)
April 2010 dry heat - This sticks out because dry heat just doesn't happen here that often. Got up to about 90 F/32 C or so.
Cold December 2010
Hot summer 2011
October 2011 snowstorm
Mild winter 2012 culminating with the record warmth in March
June 2012 was a memorably pleasant month
Hurricane Sandy October 2012
Snowstorm about a week or two after Hurricane Sandy
Summer 2013 - super humid
Around Thanksgiving 2013 I remember a rather nasty storm with snow/sleet/rain and wind
Warmth and thunderstorms in February 2017 and February 2018

I may have found the date and location of my 1992 memory. It was the Boscombe Down airshow and was held on 13-14 June 1992.

2001 - Early Feb heatwave in my first year of school. 2004 - A dust devil developed on the oval at our school. 2005 - The day when 138mm of rain fell in one day (also in Feb) and hail/graupel in July or August. During the Feb event an overpass over the river was slightly flooded and to this day, it's the only time I've ever seen or heard of it being flooded (because it's pretty high up). 2005 - Had storms on my birthday which knocked out the power. 2006 - A super sunny October. Nearly every day featured clear skies. We ended up having 305 hours of sun, which I believe will never be touched. 2006 - Coldest Christmas day on record, which featured hail and snow above 600m. 2008 - 8C day in August with rain, so I went to Mt Macedon where it snowed. It was also super windy. 2009 - 3 days in a row of 43C+, and then 46.8C in February. Also a 30C min. We then recorded our hottest November later that year. 2009 - Also the sunniest January ever. I remember it being straight up clear skies for 2 weeks. 2011 - A really dull, cloudy May. Only 83 hours of sun in the end. Most of that year was pretty dull to be fair. 2011 - The epic Christmas day thunderstorms. Golf and sometimes baseball sized hail fell, and F1 tornadoes were reported in some fields. I was in a suburb directly in the epicenter. 2013 - Wettest June day with 75mm of rain. I was playing pokemon showdown with friends and I remember the rain being so heavy that it was hard to hear them. Lots of thunder as well. Very wet days in winter are super rare here and I remember becoming enthralled with it. 2013 - A sub-zero minimum in September, which is remarkable in itself but it also occurred during our warmest September on record. 2014 - Another thunderstorm with heavy rain, and a tornado near the airport. I was in the city at the time so I didn't see anything. 2015 - A -1C low in July, which is the coldest July low between 1991 and 2020. Lol. I was also watching the cricket at night and it was nice with the fireplace on. 2015 - Warmest Octobers and Decembers on record. 2016 - A day with 24C/34C diurnals, 25C dewpoints and 62mm of rain. 2017 - A day in August with 1C/8C diurnals and 10mm of rain. Incredible stuff. I remember getting a strange sense of comfiness from it. It was also only 5C at midday. 2018 - A -2C low on the 29th of August, so almost in September. The latest -2C on record here. 2019 - January was the best summer month ever. No more needs to be said. 2019/2020 - The bushfires and the resulting smoke pollution. Easily the worst I've experienced and I hope I never experience it again. 2020 - Mostly cloudy and really, really dull almost all year.

2016: A heavy snowstorm in March, then I went on holiday in Dubai, where there were major thunderstorms and street flooding during my stay. April had loud thundersnow in Buxton. September 13th had a strong thunderstorm with frequent lightning.
How the F did I forget this? On 9th March 2016 I went to floor 148 of the Burj Khalifa (world's tallest building) and when I went onto the outside deck it was struck by lightning. Quite a loud noise like a loud ripping tearing sound and I saw the blue spark in the corner of my eye. How many people can say they got struck by lightning on the world's tallest building LMAO.

I forgot about this thread's existence, fucken! Anyway, here're some off the top of my head before I joined the WWF, and most of it (but not everything) is for where I've lived in before: - December 26-27, 2010 snowfall—one of my earliest weather-related memories. I recall being excited at seeing the ground covered in white and playing in it. - Hurricane Irene at the end of August 2011. I have recollection of evacuating to the Raleigh area to avoid the brunt of the storm, and then coming back home, have seen lots of downed trees on the way back. - The heatwave of the end of June/early July 2012. - The rediculous warmth of December 22, 2013. It felt hot in the sun to me that afternoon (highs were in the upper 70s/lower 80s that day). - January 7-8, 2014 cold snap, 'twas frigid morning (https://mesonet.agron.iastate.edu/sites/obhistory.php?network=NC_ASOS&station=EWN&year=2014&month=01&day=07). - January 11, 2014's prefrontal warmth. I remember seeing intense, dark clouds as a squall line approached that day, as well as looking at InAccuWeather's fuckcast that day, and that a tornado watch was in effect that day. That was also around the time I really started paying attention to the weather. - A dusting of snow on January 22, 2014. Was interesting to see icicles on the roof eaves of our home. - The large diurnal range on April 1, 2014 (AP was 80/37°F). I seem to have recollection of seeing frost on the ground that morning, then quickly warming up. - A mini heatwave (if it can be described as such) in mid-June 2014. I was excited to see the upper 90s temps in the forecast (indeed, it reached 97°F on June 19). - Training T-storms bringing heavy rain for most of the day on July 23, 2015. At the time, thunder/lightning scared the shit out of me and was hoping for it to end lol. - A heatwave in early August 2017 whilst we stayed in the Palermo area for two weeks. Felt nicely hot and dry that time. - (In Raw-me) a squall line/severe T-storm the evening of November 5, 2017. That thing brought lightning every few seconds, caused power outages and came with very strong gusts. - Snowfall the end of February 2018 - the cold snap was nicknamed "Beast from the East". Came with a dusting of about 1" of snowfall which quickly melted after the skies cleared. - A spell of warm, dry weather the end of April 2018 with highs in the 80s - at the time I didn't realize it was a rare treat in subarctic Raw-me for the time of year lol - The wet/thundery summer (JJA) 2018. Had some quality T-storms that time. - The especially atrocious subarctic maritime month of May 2019 in Raw-me, thank fuck I only experienced the first 10 days of that month there, was cold and rainy as fuck. It was amazing to experience warmth whilst in layover in Madrid before returning to NC, where I experienced a stretch of temps in the 80s/90s here for the second half of May.

I remembered a thunderstorm one; my younger sister used to be terrified of thunder. In late September 1999 there was a thunderstorm when I lived at Windsor Castle, and it had mostly passed over and stopped raining so we went outside. Then there was a lightning strike very very close with a loud clap of thunder, and my sister went squealing and crying running off inside the house. LOL.

Off the top of my head: January 2004: My first vague weather related memory was an intense thunderstorm and hail as we were driving south-east of Auckland for our summer holiday. My mum had to pull the car over. 2008: Cannot remember the exact month, but there was an intense thunderstorm approaching my primary school during our lunch break. I remember being out in the middle of the field and running for the classrooms. October 2009: Staying at my relatives farm just outside of Rotorua in late October as the temperature slowly dropped below zero and snow began to fall. This is my first memory of ever seeing snow. August 2011: An extremely cold few days in mid August. The temperature was hovering around 7C throughout the mid afternoon and by the time I was on the school bus home it was beginning to snow. It was the first snow event in Auckland since the 1930s. 2011/2012 Summer: A very cool, wet, and cloudy summer. November 2015: I got woken up by an insane thunderstorm in late November. Before opening the curtains i remember half-asleep expecting some sort of nuclear war outside with the level of noise and shaking lol. December 2017: A very dry, sunny, and warm December. 2019: The weather this year was very pleasant. Lots of calm, sunny days from what i remember. February 2022: A large liquidambar tree that directly overhangs my bedroom was ripped apart and fell over during intense storm in the middle of the night on the 14th. Luckily, the tree did not crush me and somehow fell into the wind - and onto my sisters car . 2023: Lol where to start - All time record breaking rainfall and floods throughout Auckland in late January. I felt my first earthquake lying in bed at around 2am on the 3rd February (yes it aint weather but still), followed by Cyclone Gabrielle and more flooding in mid february.

Jan 5, 2008: A windstorm knocked down our fence. April 2009: Heatwave. I was complaining that it was "hotter than Death Valley" Summer 2013: Went hiking in Arches National Park and got heat exhaustion. Temperature was somewhere around 100F. July 2014: Went camping at Lake Sonoma. I went for a short hike, but it turned out to take two hours because the map was drawn very poorly. The weather started off cool but heated up very quickly, and I ended up suffering from heat exhaustion in the afternoon. February 2017: Very rainy month. I would wear just a t-shirt and get soaked in the rain. November 2018: Camp Fire in Paradise, California. It was a very dry year. After school one day, my friends and I noticed that the sky towards the east was tinged red. We learned that it is because a wildfire was devastating the town of Paradise, California. Thanksgiving 2019: High temperature of 49F and very windy. One of the coldest November days in Bay Area history. One of my roommates from LA was visiting the Bay Area during this time, and got the impression that the Bay Area is a very cold place. August 2020: A very crazy weather month. - A humid heat wave (100F+ temperature/75F dew point) roasted us, and then the next morning, the remnant of a tropical storm, with huge thunderstorms and tons of dry lightning swept through the region. California was already having a bad fire season, but the lightning sparked some of the biggest fires in California history. The sky turned orange due to all the smoke. February + April 2022: In Irvine. 88F in February, 100F+ in April. Was not accustomed to such hot temperatures during this time of year. September 2022: Lightning struck close to our place all of a sudden, the thunder boomed and scared the bejeezus out of us.

Sometime in early 2006 - Probably my first weather related memory was getting caught in a thunderstorm while we were driving to the shops.
Christmas 2006 - Coldest Christmas day on record with icy winds, rain and hail. Learnt that summer does not always mean warm weather down here.
January/February 2009 - Jan was sunny almost every day and extremely dry. I remember being really thrilled about that, as I was more of a sun and warmth worshipper back in those days. There was also an intense heatwave at the end of that month into early Feb, where we featured multiple 40 degree days and our hottest temp on record.
March 2010 - A large hailstorm caused extensive damage across the city
February 2011 - Torrential rain brought 150 mm to our suburb in a single night, flooding our street. I was shocked that we could get tropical style rain here.
Christmas 2011 - Another large hailstorm occurred, and there was constant thunder and lightning that afternoon.
July 2013 - Reached 23C, which was our warmest July day on record. Felt quite strange to step out in warmth.
October 2014 - An overnight thunderstorm distrupted the train network, and I was an hour late to school as a result.
December 2015 - My flight was struggling to land at Melbourne Airport as it was so windy, so we were circling the skies for what seemed to be an eternity. It also suddenly starting pouring upon landing.
April 2016 - In Guangdong, China. There was an intense thunderstorm during my trip one day.
November 2017 - The first 10 days were well below average, but the rest of the month dramatically flipped and almost every day was warm/hot and humid
Summer of 2019-2020 - Black summer with destructive bushfires across the country. There was terrible smoke haze on many of the days. Temperature wise it was super bipolar, even for our standards.
January 2022 - One of the most consistently warm summer months I've seen, and even many nights were balmy
October/November 2022 - A very wet spring period in our area, with a record wet October
