The BOM is using the full record to calculate the median. Probably anyway, with so many years you could take away a bunch of them and return the same average. The median for the past couple of 30 year periods: 2010 25.3C 2000 24.8C 1990 25.0C 1980 24.9C 1970 24.7C 1960 24.7C

Scoresby station is missing. Has it been taken down for repair or for good? Can't find any news on it.

A couple of shots from this morning. A bit of fresh snow on the hills this morning -the snow has almost gone, and quite a bit earlier than usual. Still looking green here, despite almost no rain for a month -due and cloudy humid conditions, and not much wind.

Funny you should say that becasue we still had a fair amount of rain in October, also the temperature were average not to mention it was the cloudiest on record! ,Yet things are already drying out here

Luckily though, Shitney has a lame ass forecast www.bom.gov.au/nsw/forecasts/sydney.shtmlBeen an incredibly disgusting spell of diatribe in Failbourne, today is the 8th day that failed to exceed 20C, and averages are running 5C below. Ofcourse, its 5C below avg here aswell. Thankfully though, salvation is on the horizon.

Great recovery after this putrid shite thats been hanging around. I hope it lasts for at 2 weeks! (one week to get back on average and another to get above )

Bloody hell, 2mm of rain in Perth in a matter of minutes with lightning and thunder this afternoon. Rain coming from the north towards my house that suddenly disappears just north of my house. I feel like Beercules, kinda let down by this fizzer. Otherwise, pretty good day with maximum topping around 33-34C in the metro area with a sunny day becoming a partly cloudy evening.

Lack of wind is also a big factor, with few sea breezes and SE winds, which have a big drying out effect. Ground conditions are dryish, but it's still very green.

23.4C overnight low in Adelaide. Meanwhile in Melbourne, high single digits in many suburbs and 12C at the CDB station. LMAO. Not that Renmark was much improvement, a comparatively pathetic 13.8C at the airport, what a rediculous frost hollow.

Sorry mate we sent our crap up there Looks like it'll be 'heating up' to 22-23, which is OK but more like Sep than Nov.
