We surely average more than 350 posts per day excluding the Shoutbox, we must've long since overturned C-D as the most active weather forum on earth, haven't we? This question is asked because Y-man thinks he can reach the top merely by reaching 100 posts, something he seriously suggested in a PM I posted in "Y-man's failed forum" (funny as hell I know) What do we estimate posting per day on C-D now and are there any other rivals out there that even come close to our activity? We may well (whisper it) be the World Weather Forum now

It will be but we'll probably need to change hosts.

Nah, we're not that big, though we're probably the biggest private weather forum in the world and might be the biggest that isn't just focused on one country Just look at one of the British weather forums and compare it to this, I bet there must be some really big American weather forums as well: www.netweather.tv/forum/We average about 250 posts a day, plus maybe another 200 or 300 in the shoutbox. We'll get more overall activity than C-D Weather for sure, even if they might still get more actual weather talk. Remember that there is a limit as to how big this place can get while we're still relying on ex C-D people, we have 20 people on the invite list but after that we'll have exhausted our supply of potential new members, so we're going to plateau soon enough. If this place ever gets stale and people stop posting here I'll put the idea of opening this forum up to the public to a vote, but we're a long long way from getting to that point

Netweather lol. The retardism on that forum is incredible. I get a few good laughs every day. Poeple who think 15°C and above is hot infest that place. Cold ramping at its finest too. Think I saw a post on there the other day with a chart showing warming temperatures, but the poster's comment said "COOLING DOWN!!!!" - because the very end of the 10 days chart showed temps dropping to average.

I'm not sure it's possible to declare it the largest private weather forum, since we know nothing about other weather forums, since they're... private.

In what other circumstances than ours would anybody set up a private weather forum though? There can't be many out there. I can't imagine telling anybody I know in real life about how I've set up a secret, invitation-only weather forum on the Internet and them not looking at me like I'm absolutely insane. You've got to be honest, it is a pretty strange thing to do

Tbh, I initially just saw this as a protest forum to divert City Data traffic until they got their act together. I didn't think hat it would actually outgrow CD Weather, and at the same time CD would become even stricter

In the grand scheme of things what we're doing isn't hurting C-D as a whole much at all, Weather is just one subforum out of many and it's not the reason the site was set up in the first place. An American relocation website was a weird venue for international weather talk anyway when you think about it, considering how half the C-D Weather regulars (and well over half of this site) don't even live in the US. Yac's probably glad some of us are gone anyway

As long as we're hurting the C-D weather forum I'm happy. And ofcourse YAC is happy to see us go, otherwise he wouldn't have banned some of us for no reason, ban the unhappy thread etc.
