I'll choose Darwin for being sunnier, and more interesting.

Both horrible, but I'll go with Fortaleza since it's slightly cooler overall.

Darwin, easily. Some of the best storms on Earth and I'm not saying Darwin isn't stable, but Fortaleza... yeah that stability can get fucked.

Darwin for at least having some seasonal variation.

Darwin for lower humidity and a slight chance of cool lows.

Nice job with the "average afternoon relative humidity", Darwin botever, whoever you are. You so successfully fooled everyone into think Darwin's more comfortable that I'm not even mad.

Fortaleza, except for the months of the year the rain falls, then dries off, could easily be any one of a number of Northern Territory north eastern coastal communities.....its pretty good ! I'm ticking Darwin, on the strength its home, but I could blink and be at home in Fortaleza easily.

Darwin for the epic storms and potential for cooler weather in the dry season.

Tough one. Edge to Darwin for the lower humidity and cooler temps in the dry season as well as higher sunshine. Darwin you are pretty much guaranteed at least 1000mm a year, while apparently Fortaleza driest is 468 mm. Wonder if that slight summer rain in Fortaleza would have a bit of a greening effect compared to Darwin.

Darwin has a bit more variety, so I'll go with it.

Mmmmm I doubt it, maybe in some years of above average dry season rainfall may see the green stay around, Even Cairns, which does stay green due to some winter rain, sometimes dries off after a prolonged dry season. Darwin is a sea of brown dirt and dead grass in the dry season.

Darwin, better overall temps and well the storms speak for themselves.

Those are the actual 3pm avg humidity values in Darwin. www.bom.gov.au/climate/averages/tables/cw_014015.shtml

You can't compare average afternoon humidity in Darwin to average daily humidity in Fortaleza and conclude Darwin is less humid, as some have done in this thread. It's comparing apples to oranges.

Even the BOM fuck up sometimes....... pays to actually read rather than skim their figures. That Decile 5 median rain figure should be 1562mm

Oh that's different then. Yeah, it's up to the individual to pay attention to the data.

Darwin, mate!
It's simply more interesting, especially in terms of temperatures. In Fortaleza it's 30/23 every day pretty much - comfy if the humidity isn't excessive (which seems to be a wet-season problem in both climates), but very boring.
