Clockwise around the Equator....a surprisingly varied example of equatorial climates. Starting the journey just west of the African coast and finishing up on the east coast of Brazil near the mouth of the Amazon. This map shows the countries bisected by the Equator. Sao Tomรฉ and Principe. Libreville, Gabon. Makoua, Congo. Kisangani, DR of Congo. Kampala, Uganda. Kisamu, Kenya Kismayo, Somalia. Gan, Maldives. Pontianak, Indonesia. Singapore Ternate, Indonesia. South Tarawa, Kiribati. Quito, Ecuador. Peurto Laguizamo, Columbia. Macapa, Brazil.

Quito out of all of these horrendous choices. The only that's comfortable besides Kampala (but at least Quito has cool nights).

Mmmmmmmm. Kampala I'd say. Known also to average about 200 thunderstorm days per year.

Kismayo for the win. The Somali coast has among the best climates on Earth IMO Honestly though these are all stellar climates except for Quito and it isn't half bad either.

Kampala, as it's a comfortable looking climate. Rest are too humid and yucky, and Quito is too cool.

Probably UK sources, as the airport at Gan was a former RAF Base before being handed back to the Maldives.

Macapa seems to align to my preferences most closely.

Quito, the easiest choice.

I'll go with Kampala for the insane thunderstorm frequency.
Note that the closer you are to Lake Victoria, the more thunderstorms you will see.

Ultimately it comes down to precipitation - making Kampala the winner, but its elevation makes the temperatures pretty anemic.

All are dreadful in their own ways.
But Quito for being pleasant.

I choose Pontianak. Macapรก, Puerto Leguรญzamo and Libreville are a close second

Sรฃo Tomรฉ. Comfortable temps year-round (not too hot) and a nice wet/dry season balance, without being too wet. Very good for a tropical climate.

Macapa for the highest record max temps and the dry/wet season contrast. A bit more variety than the other lowland equatorial ones out of these. Singapore comes in #2 out of these.
