Wet summer easily. Love emerald green grass in the hotter months.

Wet winter. Summers are bone dry here, & little rain falls from April to September, so wouldn't mind some rain in the summer but prefer if most falls in the winter.

Obviously I prefer a dry summer (in temperate climates) as my dream climate is Mediterranean. I don’t like summers completely dry like SoCal, but more like the Mediterranean climates found in Southern Europe that still have occasional summer storms, or even a a climate like mine with a slight summer minimum and few rain days, because much of our summer rain is via rare tropical lows.
Rain in summer is a complete waste as it makes everything sticky and prevents you from enjoying the warm temps. Cold rain is preferred because while it’s not pleasant, it’s necessary for being able to grow stuff and isn’t a waste of warm temps. I don’t enjoy the cold so I don’t mind if it rains then. Most precipitation in winter in our area also helps to moderate temperatures which prevents snow. Cold rain is also more pleasant to be out in than warm rain, because for cold rain you can wear a coat, but that’s uncomfortable in warm rain. There’s a reason that no one vacations in temperate monsoon climates!
Tropical climates are a different story. I’d prefer the rain there in the summer to temper the temps, and the “dry season” in tropical savanna climates, such as those in South FL, have glorious warm dry weather, not too dissimilar to what I’d consider my ideal for summers.

Wet winter. Snow should be the primary source of precipitation. Rain is just an added bonus. But I do want some rain in summer to help the heat be more tolerable.

Southern Australia, the seasonal differences can be severe re wet and dry. I was at a friends place at St Andrews, 40klm north of Melbourne 2 summers ago. Previous visits I had only ever seen their property 'emerald green'. But this is what it looked like in Feb 2019 And an average rainfall about 700mm per annum at a guess.

Mediterranean precip pattern is my preference; wet winter (snowy)/dry summer.

Wet summer, dry winter is best for my ideal climate. In Winnipeg though dry summer is best since summer is so short.

If I had to pick solely between summer and winter I would prefer a wet summer and dry winter. Even better would be a dry season from late summer to mid autumn (late August to mid October), whereas ample rainfall in May and June is very important to me. I agree with this.
A short dry season in late winter to early spring is also acceptable as long as it rains when the growing season starts. In general I don't want a dry season.

I'm not too picky on precipitation patterns, but I'd rather have wet winters because I'd rather have dryness in the summer. Not sure what I was thinking at the time, only logical explanation is that at the time I've forgotten about the beauty of summer thunderstorms and didn't fully appreciate them. So, I'll say wet summers, though I still prefer even precip patterns. Summer rain (convective showers/thunderstorms) also tends to fall over shorter periods of time as opposed to raining the entire day. Cold rain (especially if we're talking temps below 50°F) is anti-life and feels disgusting, as if you're gonna get trench foot and lose your limbs.

Winter should be rainy, and summer should be dry. Love a seasonally lush grassland or woodland.

Wet winter.
I like the contrast of a wet and dry season. Ideally the dry season should be warm and sunny, and the wet season not too hot and muggy. So naturally a wet winter pattern fits that pattern better.

We have 7 months of rain and 5 months of dry... so even in the 'dry seasons', the max temps are around 28c-33c, but with dp's often below 12c and even as low as 5c. A very pleasent time of the year. Mins sometimes as low as 15c... and with the low dp's, certainly feels 'chilly'.

Ideally autumn would be the dry season. I like both wet, thunderstorm-dominated summers and wet/snowy winters dominated by frontal activity, with a dry and sunny autumn in between. But if I had to choose between a wet summer and a wet winter, I'd pick a wet summer. Summer droughts suck and there is a certain appeal to dry winters, especially if diurnals are large.

Wet winters, as I like emerald grass. In saying so, summers shouldn't be that dry either.

Just a MILDLY wet winter. Think San Diego or Tijuana, maybe LA to some extent. I despise very wet and gloomy winters.
