Which climate do you think has more intense heat stroke inducing summers: Laredo: Alice Springs: Personally, I'd be grilled in an hour in both climates if I didn't have access to an AC.

Laredo is clearly hotter and for a longer time than Alice Springs, so it's not really a fair comparison. Not to mention the 7 F warmer average lows in Laredo during summer, less relief at night.

Lots of people are going to vote for which they prefer instead of what's worse...

Alice Springs is one of the cooler climates in Central Australia ( modest altitude helps ) And far enough North to get a bit of summer rain from the North Australian Monsoon and North West Cloudbands. And far enough South to get the effects of the occaisonal winter cold frontal system. And being in a valley surrounded by the ancient hills of the Macdonnell Ranges, is known as a bit of a frost hollow in the winter months. Heat Stroke ? yeah nah, not for any locals and acclimatised folk. 43c and low humitity ( ie the 'dry heat' ) is a piece of piss to handle. And not many succeptible tourists in the streets in the hotter months, although having said that, there are several deaths recorded each year amongst unaclimatised visitors who think its a good idea to bushwalk the West Macdonnells without taking adequate heat precautions, simple things like water and loose light coloured clothing and a hat !

Mostly correct, except for the bit in bold. Itโs far west enough, not far south enough. And besides, Alice Springs gets most of its cold from Northwest Cloudbands rather than SW'ers. As for the pollโฆobviously Laredo is much, much hotter. A very stupid question to ask.

Laredo is better.
Poll should be named "drug cartels vs abos throwing up against the fence" though.

Haha...I did say 'occaisional' and also used rhe terminology 'effects' which should not be misconstrued as a Mt Gambier type cold front sweeping through. But indeed the place is far enough south to get the occaisional cool winter change

Both are disgusting but Alice Springs seems RELATIVELY better especially in summer morning.
