Which oceanside hot humid subtropical climate suits your preferences better: Daytona Beach: Gold Coast: I'd probably go with gold coast. At least the summers are more tolerable despite the humidity. Daytona summers, 96 F with 80 F dew-points will fuck with my hairy dick. In these types of climates, it's the summer heat which matters more.

Gold coast. Iโll sacrifice the occasional chilly winter day for much less unpleasant summers.

Daytona Beach easily for cooler winters, cooler lows year round, and for being more much variable.

Gold Coast is a really nice climate that doesn't suffer too many extremes. Sometimes the unlucky visitor might get a couple of wet wintery ( by Aussie standards ) days, but otherwise the climate of the East Coast from Northern NSW up to the Sunshine Coast is very easy to live in.

Maybe by tropical NT standards. And anyways the Gold Coast (like the rest of the leeward coastal plain) is overwhelmingly dry and sunny in winter save for Juneโฆhardly gets "wet wintry days" by any standard, really.

Daytona for more variation and probably better thunderstorms.

Daytona is much better. Also 96 F with an 80 F dew point is hardly typical weather in Daytona during summer.

Well I guess it is subjective.....and 200mm in May/June is hardly dry and sunny. You get 16's and 17's some rainy winters days, sorta Melbournish, and not what the southern visitor wants to see escaping north to Queensland from south of the Murrumbidgee. I remember a weeks May school holiday on the Coast and it rained 5 of our 7 days, full overcast and cool enough to need a jumper. Same as Brisbane, a 15c day there certainly feels like a 15c day lol ! Again, overall, decent climate without extremes generally, and the bonus is wicked spring and summer thunderstorms, not to mention the tail end of Cyclones, although at that latitude they've transitioned into extratropical cyclones, and of course the genuine East Coast Low which gets the surf beaches pumping !

It's a coin toss for me. I might narrowly pick Daytona beach for the hotter summer highs and a bit more seasonality. Both are really good though.

No doubt both spams storms like a , I know for a fact, but for my preferences Daytona Beach might be more interesting. Hard choice really.
Ofcourse, I would be happy in the Gold Coast too. Both are very agreeable climates and both get ripper storms.

Gold Coast is better for its slightly warmer winters and cooler summers. If I'm living in a semitropical climate like these, I'd rather not have cool blasts in winter like Daytona gets occasionally.

This is actually a hard choice, but I'll got with Daytona Beach for having cooler winters and having more precipitation days. Both are nasty climates imo though.
