Inspired by Tarlife's RTC threads for a couple of locations in NC, I thought I'd start a thread for rating the new '91-20 normals for Death Valley.

B. The extreme heat is really only for 2-3 months, the rest of the year is really nice - hot but with very low humidity. People get scared looking at those summer temps but they drop off pretty quickly in the shoulder seasons.

C, reluctantly. The heat in summer and SFA rain.....rest of the year seems ok

It gets a C+ from me. It would get into the B range if summers were about 7C cooler.

It's an E+ as it's way too hot and dry, but it's still downright pleasant outside of May thru September.

E-, it's too hot of course but it's so hot that it is interesting. The mild winters save it from a F. A place I'd like to visit but never live long-term.

E-; Really really bad climate, those summers and the dryness would drive me crazy, but at least winter is nice and cool.

Has to be an F for me. The heat would be interesting, but it would also be unbearable. I've lived in extremely hot places, and you just can't do anything outside during the day. It's pointless.

F. Weird that there's been no change in winter temperatures even as summers have gotten slightly hotter. (I don't remember what the 81-10 averages were off the top of my head, but I think Dec-Jan averaged ~12 C and the JJA lows were all under 32 C)
