Well, as you can imagine, land mass, let alone weather stations, are a bit light on at 45*S. I've managed to cobble together some rather interesting ones. Which do you prefer at the half way point between the Equator and the South Pole ? Oh, and I guess four sites in the small area of NZ's South Island seems like a bit of overkill, mind you, four very different climates ! Coyhaique, Chile Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina Marian Island, Prince Edward Islands Crozet Islands Maatsuyker Island, Tasmania, Australia Milford Sound, NZ Queenstown, NZ Cromwell, NZ Oamaru, NZ

Coyhaique is the best all around. Cromwell and Queenstown runners up.

Comodoro, if Cromwell had 2400 annual sunshine Iโd be tempted but itโs marginally more only than como
Edit: read that comodoro is a very windy climate, which lowers its score quite a bit. Cromwell it is.

Cromwell NZ, because it has a summer and winter season. Most of these places have gaytime summers

Comodoro wins for being warmest year round and also being quite dry.

Comodoro Rivadavia by far, it's too dry but good temps all year except for summers being too cool, but still it is the only one of these climates to have something resembling an actual summer.

Actually, I could have used New Zealand's driest town, in the poll. Also has decent summer, with days above 35c most summer months

Comorodo Rivadavia is the most palatable out of this subarctic casserole.

Wow, that's a huge drop-off from the 30th parallel Marian and Crozet islands are some of the worst climates I've ever seen! I was going to pick Comodoro Rivadavia, but then I remember reading that the city is infamously windy, so I pick Cromwell instead. Below 20 C wind becomes just as important as temperature IMO and having less wind can make up for being a little cooler. Plus Cromwell is a bit sunnier. Cromwell for me - have spent a lot of time there and enjoy the climate. Probably the least sunny part of that area due to winter valley fog that sits nicely over that area, while surrounding areas are clear. I suspect Queenstown is the sunniest of this bunch, with the hours shown not taking horizon obstruction into consideration. Possibly, but there's a lot of obstruction. There used to be a poster on the old forum who claimed around 2300 hrs for Cromwell.

Comodoro Rivadavia is the best of a crummy bunch; it comes closest to having an acceptable summer. Some of these are absolutely pathetic considering the latitude; I mean, I'm almost at 45' latitude!
