Only a very short history of data that has been digitised, but probably older records dating back to WW2 when the place had a military presence. There is a lighthouse on the north tip of the Island. Being on the far north eastern coast of the Northern Territory, the climate is somewhat milder than the Western Top End, and the rainfall patterns are different as in the north east parts of the Top End get some rain/showery conditions into July. The build up months are delayed somewhat in the north east. The waters off the Top End and the Torres Straits are very warm, and Cape Wessel does not experience the cooler dry season nights of the Top End Mainland. Overall excellent. A. The buildup season is a bit too warm during daytime but otherwise a superb climate.

F+; terrible climate, like South FL on steroids. Only reason it's not a solid F or F- is because of the plentiful rainfall.

There's never been a sub-80 F high in summer on record. That alone gives this place an A rating. Bloody epic.

B+. Would prefer somewhat cooler winter nights like Darwin.

Not bad for a tropical climate due to the nice dry season and the overall dryness. C-
