Unsurprisingly the friends I talk to all seem to have a more boring dream climate than I do.

I asked my girlfriend for her dream climate a couple of months ago. Granted, she doesn't hang around this forum or anything, but surprisingly she thinks the weather's pretty interesting herself - and both of us hate the cold. Her dream climate ended up as more or less a milder version of mine, though with a bit more of a Mediterranean rainfall pattern. I added the daily means.

Here's the climate my dog loved back in the day. He sure loved those summers! Incidentally, the average highs in this climate are virtually perfect by my standards.

Lol wut. How do you even get the details of their preferences? Weird AF. Ever heard of asking people - or at the very least, estimating based on what they've said?

Lol wut. How do you even get the details of their preferences? Weird AF. He takes them in for questioning and interrogation. And if their preferences are too cold, then he tortures them until they change their preferences.

This thread is dead, but is really interesting IMO. Here are my parent's weather preferences (yes, they don't want to use AC nor heaters to reduce electricity bills ): My father makes my maritime humid subtropical climate seem Turpan-esque, as h e IS a normie. I have once overheard him stating that 18ºC is too "cold" and 24ºC is too "hot" during the day in our serene and tranquil climate, and needs to turn on the AC/heater when the nights are outside the 12-16ºC range . Furthermore, he despises any form of precipitation, fog or wind ; and wants moderately low sunshine year-round for his afternoon siestas! I think that his favourite climate would be Walvis Bay, Namibia, confirming his joke-heat and cold resistance. Here is his ideal climate (I think), at 21ºS: Meanwhile, my mother likes our winters , but dreads our November-April weather-wise, as what is heat resistance, according to her? She loves mild, cloudy summers not above 23ºC with a moderate breeze and drizzle, and mildly cool winters not below 6ºC with a mixture of drizzle and sun. I have seen her turn on the AC on a sunny August day reaching 22ºC day (and kid you not, a 10ºC night) . I think that she would like Auckland, New Zealand, so a little cooler, less humid and cloudier than home. Here is her preferential climate (I suppose) at 38ºS.

CRISPR your dad's climate really does look Namibian; at least it's comfortable, though the complete lack of precipitation would be suicide-inducing. Either of your parents' dream climates would be rather well within the mainstream around here. It's cool to see someone else new on here who's into making climates and stuff again. Too bad the heyday for this stuff on this forum seemed to be about a decade ago now, but maybe you, I, and a couple of others can bring it back.

Too lazy to make wikiboxes, so I'll do it with real places. These are impressionistic/based on conversations.
Mom: Somewhere between Bordeaux and Biarritz Dad: Doesn't exist in real life, closest thing is probably somewhere in Japan. Basically like Argentine Pampas for 10 months out of the year but December and January are copy-pasted from Cleveland. Sister: Somewhere "with four classical seasons" but in the most boring possible way, like idk Berlin or something

To protect the privacy of my friends, I refer to them as Friend 1 and Friend 2.Friend 1 is similar to my mum's only with more sunshine, more showers, less drizzle and more extremes in either direction. Still a Cfb, but more akin to Hamilton, New Zealand with the lower lows. At least has a little more heat resistance than my parents. Friend 2 is the odd one out, with a Cwb/Dwb climate breaking my dream climate's record low on most winter nights. Inspired by Lhasa, China; but with more rain and less sunshine. Also lacks much heat resistance, but has plenty cold resistance to boot!
