The Middle East is a region most often associated with hot desert climates and is home to some of the highest temperatures on earth. But did you know that a huge chunk of the region is over 1000 m? This tempers the heat and leads to some climates that you might not expect to find in this region. Here are just a few: Taiz, Yemen - my pick for year-round warm (but not too hot) weather and a summer-heavy rainfall pattern. It probably also has the most thunderstorms of any of these. Dhamar, Yemen - a much cooler version of Taiz, still has warm afternoons year-round, but nights are cool. Amman, Jordan - more of a classic Mediterranean style climate. Tabriz, Iran - one for the cold / snow lovers (but you still have to put up with hot summers). Qom, Iran - for the epic diurnal / seasonal temp variation. Has the hottest summers but also manages some proper winter cold. Safed, Israel - probably my least favorite for the high amount of winter rain (but probably not a lot of snow). Abha, Saudi Arabia - my second favorite, reminds me of LA.

I'll go for Safed, Amman is in a very very close second.

Tabriz - has actually rather nice temperatures although a bit too warm. Most balanced one out of all these, still drier than a nun's twat though.

Dhamar for being the most comfortable. Safed would be my second choice.

Safed, this is the easiest climate battle I've ever done. No exaggeration. Safed fits my criteria to be an A climate!
