Some of Australia's soggiest cities and towns, by States and Territory. There may be wetter ones out there, this is just a list off the top of my head with no real detailed research. Oh, and not bothered with random AWS on the tops of mountains etc, nor with ski resorts and the like.

Babinda, Far North Queensland, holds the title of Australia's wettest town with about 4200mm per annum.

Pirlangimpi has the distinct advantage of having one of the worlds only 'named' thunderstorm, 'Hector'the Convector' perched on top of the town during the wet season. just about set your watch with the regular afternoon storm.
